3.4 Please Take Me
"Don't worry," The unfamiliar voice said, followed by the scent of winter with a slightly sweet tang that was both cold and comforting at the same time. "I've got you." 2
Oliver calmed down despite himself. Yes he still suffered from the heat but the fear, anxiety and dread seemed to have melted away just like magic. Warmth enveloped him, shielding him from the howling wind and he snuggled closer in search of comfort. Peeling his eyes open with much difficulty, his blurry vision caught sight of a sharp jawline and silver hair which created a striking contrast against the night sky. Rhythmic thumping of the other's heart sounded close to his ears which became his anchor to hold on amidst the onslaught of foreign sensation which overwhelmed his senses.
Who...Who was that? Oliver thought with his mind hazy. Where would he take him to...?
He reached out to tug on the other's clothes and the silver haired man lowered his glance. Oliver was instantly met with a pair of silvery eyes that resembled moonstones. His breath stuttered to a halt; those eyes… they seemed to pierce deep into his soul and made his heart tremble for reasons he couldn't comprehend.
"What's wrong?" The man asked with an impassive tone. Yet somehow Oliver could still perceive the underlying gentleness and concern in it. "Cold?"
Oliver opened his lips to answer—at least, say anything but his throat was as coarse as the sand in deserts. He coughed hard and the wind abruptly rushed to his lungs, making him choke harder. Without a word, the man tugged him closer and Oliver could no longer feel the cold wind albeit he could still hear how harsh it was with his ears. His nose was overwhelmed with the man's scent; so soothing and...mouth-watering. It smelled of the fresh air of winter but strangely, Oliver could only feel the warmth from it.
"Hang on. We will arrive soon."
He knew he should have pushed the man away—for God's sake, he didn't even know him!—and he should have felt something, anything other than this weird sense of relief.
But he couldn't.
He closed his eyes and let the man's presence and scent engulf him, feeling completely safe and secure.
It was unknown how much time had passed.
He couldn't even discern his surroundings. The fever that had barely subsided with the silver haired man's presence returned yet again in full force. Oliver tossed back and forth, soft cries escaped his lips.
It hurts, his whole body hurts. One second it was as if he was falling into a pool of boiling lava and in the next second he plunged into icy deep water, so cold that his teeth chattered unstoppably. He could sense the man near him—the one who would be able to quench his suffering for sure—but he couldn't reach him no matter how hard he tried. Frustration and grievance burst forth his chest and he cried out. "Why...Why won't you help me? It's so painful…"
He saw the man reach out to him and in desperation, Oliver tugged the man's hand, pulling it to cup his own cheek. Tears slid down the corner of his eyes. "It's cool…" He murmured. "Your hand is so cool. It feels so good…" He tugged the hand down intending to put it inside his clothes so that his burning body would be cooled down too but the man grasped his wrist to stop him. It was gentle yet firm at the same time. Oliver couldn't pull away even when he had used up all of his strength.
"Why won't you let me?!" He cried out, aggrieved. "Come here...come here okay? It feels so unbearable…"
Lu Yizhou's jaws clenched tightly. He had to hold his breath as Oliver's cloyingly sweet pheromones spread all over the room, veins popping up on his forehead.
Back then, he was too occupied with protecting the Omega from the protagonist to be affected but now that they were left alone, the repercussions came in full blast. Sweat trickled down his jaws and the corner of his eyes reddened slightly from resisting the urge from within.
Oliver—lithe body, fair blushing skin and eyes glazed with desire—would be a fatal temptation for any other Alphas but for Lu Yizhou who could even regain his senses when he was already 99% corrupted, this was nothing difficult. Except that his body reacted subconsciously.
He reached out to loosen Oliver's collar to let the youth breathe easier and his eyes inadvertently fell on the star shaped mole below his collarbone. His movement paused and he couldn't resist stroking the birthmark with his fingertips gently.
In an instant, Oliver shuddered and he gasped, eyes brimming with unshed tears. He bit his lips and opened his arms for Lu Yizhou, vulnerable and soft. He let out a little whine from his nose. It was adorable.
Lu Yizhou retracted his hand abruptly and curled his fingers into fists. "Sorry." Disregarding Oliver's pained expression, he stood up with a sigh.
Walking toward the balcony, Lu Yizhou closed the door behind him to prevent the pheromones from leaking out. The lights from the buildings across the kingdom spread out in front of him, it was like a sea of sparkling stars. Lu Yizhou stared blankly ahead, his mind wandering. Now that he had taken Oliver away, he would be spared from the fate of having an unwanted bond forced onto him. Lu Yizhou let out a sigh of relief. It was so close… he couldn't imagine what would have happened if he had come a few minutes later.
Lu Yizhou still had no idea what his identity was in this world but judging from how he owned this luxurious condo near the school, it seemed like he was well-off. Well, he could tell, judging from the beastly sign on him and the room he woke up to earlier.
He closed his eyes to digest the rest of the plot.
In this world, his name was Altair, the Crown Prince from Versatine Kingdom situated high atop of the mountain. He was conceived by Eagle Emperor Alpha and Antelope Empress Omega. A child should have only displayed the sign from one type of beast but Altair was born different. He inherited his Alpha father's wings and Omega father's horns, even though his personality and characteristics resembled his Eagle Alpha father more. Nonetheless, just his physique alone made him a unique existence in the whole world.
Or to be exact, he was a hybrid. The one and only horned eagle in the world.
Anxious that his appearance would cause a large commotion throughout the world, his fathers opted to keep his existence a secret. Since he was small, his education came from his Antelope Omega father and he lived in a skyhouse which his Eagle Alpha father built especially for him. It wasn't until he came of age and experienced his first rut that his overprotective parents gradually loosened their wariness and let Altair explore the world on his own.
This year, he was eighteen and was appointed by his Emperor father to be an envoy to discuss a major cooperation between two kingdoms. Being the nonchalant beastman he was, Altair chose to hide his own identity and enrolled in the school where the main leads of the world studied just for fun because he had never known how it felt to study properly together with other students.
Actually, behind the guise of cooperation, the true purpose of Altair's trip was to expose him to many potential partners. His fathers greatly regretted their strict ways of raising Altair. As a result, the hybrid hadn't shown any sort of special interest toward other beastmen. Let alone Betas, he didn't even react to Omegas and his fathers were worried that he had somehow grown up impotent.
Lu Yizhou glanced down at a certain excited part of his body and snorted. There was certainly nothing wrong with Altair's body. He could testify for it.
In the original plot, Altair and Oliver didn't even get the chance to meet. Altair came when Oliver had been exiled and he left before Oliver returned. His time in Alaze Kingdom could be considered very short—only less than half a year. He closed the deal with the Emperor of Alaze and after reporting back to his Alpha father, he continued on his journey to explore the world.
It could be said that the two's fates didn't intersect at all.
Lu Yizhou tapped his fingers on the balcony railings. According to the original plot, he shouldn't have come here for another three months but he had overwritten it to save the villain. He didn't know whether this was the effect of being stranded off or because they couldn't connect to the main server, but Lu Yizhou felt like the world was fairly simple—it was the simplest, to be honest. Once again, he got a strong dejavu that this world was awfully similar to the first world.
The villain's demise started from his bond with Ryan which led to the unfortunate string of events afterwards. Now that he had changed the plot, Oliver should have been fine but Lu Yizhou still had to keep an eye on him so that the situation wouldn't go haywire.
As soon as he finished sorting out his thoughts, he heard the system cheered excitedly inside his mind.
[666: THAT'S RIGHT! Host is too mighty! How can you be so smart?! First and bzzz...bzzz... foremost, Oliver has fragile health so his heat cycle is often irregular. As a result, we can't confirm whether he will meet the protagonist and mate with him again. You have to keep an eye on him bzzz…bzz... and protect him, Host, so that Oliver won't fall in the same quagmire of lovesickness and end up sacrificing his whole life for a stupid Alpha!]
[Judging from how energetic you sounded, it seems like your nausea has gotten better.]
[666: *retch* Don't remind 666 of that again! Next time, Host, can you please give 666 a heads up if you're going to fly? 666 didn't realize bzzz….bzzz... that it has a height phobia until now…]
Lu Yizhou was ready to answer when a beep came from the thin metallic bracelet on his wrist. He tapped on it and a hologram screen appeared in front of him, showing the angry face of Altair's servant slash bodyguard slash best friend, Derek, a sparrow Beta. They had been together since childhood with Derek only five years older than Altair. "Your Highness! Where have you gone?! I can't reach your communicator and the GPS shows that you're currently in Alaze—no wait I can see from the background that you have settled into the condo. But didn't you tell me last time that you would only arrive at the last minute?"
Lu Yizhou leaned back and let Derek nag for another ten minutes about the importance of updating him all the time. His nonchalant manner only riled up Derek further and the bodyguard roared angrily. "Are you listening to me?! What should I do if something indeed happened—"
A dull thump sounded inside the room and Lu Yizhou turned around to see Oliver falling off the bed. The Omega was desperately fumbling to take his shirt off, revealing a vast expanse of milky chest that was painted pink all over.
"Fuck..." A curse slipped off Derek's mouth. His eyes widened to its maximum as he shoved his face closer into the screen. It was almost comical. "What is that I'm seeing? An Omega?! Is that an Omega?!!"
Lu Yizhou clicked his tongue and was ready to end the call when he was reminded of something. "Bring me a dose of Omega's heat suppressor when you come later."
"Wait, what—" The hologram screen vanished and Lu Yizhou turned to enter the room. He wrinkled his nose slightly, the scent was getting so strong that he could feel it dripping in every corner of the room. It was the combination of ripe clementine with a tinge of vanilla; so sweet that Lu Yizhou could taste it on the tip of his tongue. The gland patch had turned soak due to Oliver's sweat and its effect had started to diminish. Lu Yizhou texted Derek, telling him to bring a new gland patch and was promptly bombarded by questions. In the end, he shut the communicator off and returned to the matter in hand.
Oliver laid on the ground and curled up on his side, sniffling. His tingling and oversensitive senses detected a source of heat coming closer followed by a broad palm which landed on his back to help him up. Shivers ran down his spine from the touch and he cracked his eyes open to see the Alpha. As if injected with chicken blood, he pounced on Lu Yizhou without a warning and stuck to him in a deadly grip. Lu Yizhou was thrown off balance and before he could recover himself, Oliver tilted his head forward and captured his lips, messy and desperate, licking and nibbling. Lu Yizhou could feel his scorching body temperature and the sweet scent made him slightly dizzy.
"I want you...please...please take me…" The Omega pleaded softly.
