4.48 Gate Of Demonic Realm
Lu Yizhou pinched his brows out of frustration. He had just gotten rid of one, now another was coming? He thought he would be able to distract the army of cultivators away if he used Sect Leader Ling's death as a lesson but if Shan Duoyin were to awaken his heavenly bloodline right now and messed things up… everything he had done would come to naught then. No, he couldn't let it happen. The protagonist wasn't allowed to evolve.2
He abruptly disappeared from the spot only to reappear behind Shan Duoyin. Before anyone could react, he hit the man on the back of his neck and laid his unconscious body down to the ground. Ling Chuwei, who lost the physical support behind her, abruptly stumbled and swiveled only to find Lu Yizhou behind him! Her eyes blazed with bright fury. "YOU—!"
"Shut up." Lu Yizhou twisted her arm behind her back and chopped her unconscious too.
The army of cultivators exploded into an uproar. "What have you done to them, you traitor?!" If they couldn't win in a one-on-one fight, then they only had to attack as a group! They brandished their swords, faces flushed with righteous indignation as they condemned him. "The Jingxue-Jun we know no longer exists! He's merely Black Demon Weeping Blood's puppet! We have to merge our strength and take him down once and for all!"
The one who stood at the very front was Elder Mu from Lingyan. "Fellow cultivators, on my count!"
Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes, observing the crowd that was ready to dismember his limbs. [Do I still have enough point to buy a knockout bomb?]
[666: No, you don't QAQ This is all Host's fault for refusing the rewards from the previous worlds! You only have 18 points left! You can only buy candies to gnaw on! Oh my Admin God, this is it. This is where 666 is going to die!!!]
"CHARGE!!!" Elder Mu bellowed and behind him was a horde of cultivators with numerous swords and spiritual weapons. Lu Yizhou got a headache. He was contemplating whether he should blow something up when the sky above them opened up and lightning suddenly struck the ground between Lu Yizhou and the cultivators. It was ear-deafeningly powerful and a hole was instantly formed on the ground, sizzling with smoke fuming. The cultivators were stunned and looked up in time to see another oncoming lightning. In an instant, they scattered like headless flies to all directions, avoiding one bolt after another.
Someone cried out. "Who is going through a tribulation at a time like this?!!" It was common sense that nobody should be near the vicinity of a cultivator who was going through the heavenly tribulation lest they wanted to have a taste of heavenly lightning as well. The army of cultivators ran for their lives and turned back to see the lightning concentrated in one area. And there were only a few figures left there; Sect Leader Ling's corpse, Shan Duoyin and Ling Chuwei's unconscious body and lastly… Jingxue-Jun.
All eyes zeroed in on Lu Yizhou. Was he… Was he the one who triggered such a ferocious heavenly tribulation?!
It wasn't him, Lu Yizhou swore. He gave the unconscious male protagonist a contemplative look. [So his bloodline can still be awakened even when I knock him out?]
[666: Well, 666 supposes that he's fated for this, Host. More importantly, what kind of damage has Host done to this poor boy's heart? He can even advance without Immortal Zhao's harsh training! Ckckck, Host is really too horrific. You're so 666!]
The hair on the back of Lu Yizhou's neck prickled and he stepped aside in time for lightning to strike the ground where he was standing a split second ago. The energy in the air flickered like electricity and he could feel his goosebumps rising. That was really close. He would definitely become a roasted human if he didn't dodge just now.
[666: Host, what are you doing there?! You should run and hide like those cultivators out there!!!]
Lu Yizhou hummed and fell into thoughts, eyes trained on the scorched holes on the ground, much to 666's dismay. More and more lightning hammered down like shower around him and he could feel the heat rising in the air. Lu Yizhou looked up to the sky and pondered. [This…is pure spiritual energy, right?]
[666: OF COURSE!!! AAAH, HOST! JUST GO PLEASE! 666 BEGS YOU!]
Instead of leaving, Lu Yizhou started to pull out one thing after another from his qiankun pouch. Having an idea as to what its Host was going to do, 666 felt like fainting. That's right, it should have just gone offline and let Host deal with the mess, ciao!
The cultivators around the area were confused to see Lu Yizhou drawing an array instead of meditating to prepare for his tribulation. "What is he doing?" The same question swirled in everyone's mind. They squinted and tried to have a better look at what kind of array Lu Yizhou was working on but unfortunately, nobody had ever seen such a complex and layered array before. Not only that, he started to direct the heavenly lightning as a power source to the array. The audacity! Whatever it was, they suddenly got an ominous hunch as Lu Yizhou proceeded to work. Stop him, their instinct clamoured in alarm.
None of the cultivators knew what kind of array it was, but Heimo knew it like the back of his palm; had learned every curve and markings day by day, had engraved it to his mind that he could draw it even when he was half-conscious. Lu Yizhou, the man that had disappeared on him and made him so miserable that he almost broke down a few times in the last few hours, was working on an array to open the gate to the demonic realm amidst the rain of heavenly lightning. That was the scene Heimo saw as soon as he arrived.
"Lu…Yizhou?" He stumbled in his haste and called out in horror. "W—What are you doing with that?" What was he drawing the array for? Moreover, how could he know? The book… had always been in Heimo's possession. He swore that except him and Shijie — and the late Uncle Luqiu — there was no third or fourth person who was even aware of the existence of the book. So how? How could Lu Yizhou know everything? How could he draw it so smoothly as if he had been memorizing it just for today?
Lu Yizhou's hands paused at the sound of Heimo's voice but he's not looking up, opting to finish engraving the last few lines. As soon as the array was completed, crimson glow surged forth the ground toward the sky, building a solid impenetrable barrier, and in the middle of it was Lu Yizhou.
"LU YIZHOU!!!" Bracing against the soaring crescendo of tornado and storm, Heimo marched closer. His body was shaking out of… fear. Yes, he was afraid for Lu Yizhou. He was afraid that… something wrong would happen and then— "STOP IT!" He hollered, unable to entertain the idea any longer. "STOP THIS RIGHT NOW! YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS!" Heimo tried to breach the array only to be stopped. The crimson wall stood still in front of him, preventing him from coming closer. He screamed the man's name again and again, banging on the barrier desperately. "Let me in! It should be me! This should be my mission to complete! LU YIZHOU!!" Heimo didn't even realize he was crying until he tasted salt on his tongue.
Lu Yizhou was standing just a few meters away, yet his features were contorted as if the space between them was drifting further and further apart. Heimo saw the man crack a smile toward him and his lips moved, a split second before the array truly activated.
"It's okay, I will do everything for you."
In the next second, a small hole appeared above their heads before it grew larger and larger as if an invisible hand had just torn the sky apart.
The gate to the demonic realm was opened.
