4.11 Cleansing Impurity
Lu Yizhou touched Heimo's shoulder and startled. He was so hot! With a much urgent tone, he called out again. "Lan'er, are you okay?" He tugged on Heimo's arm so that the demonic cultivator was laying on his back and shock wasn't even adequate to describe what Lu Yizhou was feeling when he saw Heimo's ghastly expression, the pain scrunching between his brows and his lips that was tinged with bluish hue. His teeth were chattering and he looked like he was in an awful lot of pain.2
"Lan'er…?" Lu Yizhou patted his cheek and his other hand went to Heimo's wrist to check his meridian. His heart sank as he saw the tip of Heimo's fingernails had turned blackish where it was perfectly normal before. Lu Yizhou closed his eyes and let out a string of spiritual energy from his fingertips to probe Heimo's inside. He sucked in a breath as he sensed Heimo's chaotic energy flow as if a tornado was rampaging wildly. His vital points were either blocked or overflowed with the excess spiritual energy. If this kept on longer, he would definitely bleed from inside out before exploding into pieces! Lu Yizhou's eyes saw red. The poison! It must be the poison flaring!
[You said the chicken meat is supposed to heal all poisons?!]
[666: Ayee, Host, it's written like that in the Encyclopedia! And it's a phoenix, not chicken! Wait—Wait a minute, 666 will scan his body and see what's wrong!]
Lu Yizhou almost growled. [Hurry!]
Heimo was shivering violently even though his body was boiling hot. "Cold…" His lips muttered incoherently. "It's so cold…so cold…" Lu Yizhou flicked his fingers and the fire burst up to the ceiling, so huge that it resembled a pillar of flame. The cave's interior brightened considerably and next, he moved to pull out the remaining robes he had to wrap them around Heimo. However it was no use. Heimo kept struggling and flung the clothes away. It slipped down his upper half, displaying an expanse of pale skin and lean torso that was covered in a layer of sweat.
Lu Yizhou patiently tucked the robes all over Heimo again. "Lan'er, be good. Don't move around."
"No…no…" His head thrashed around, the black locks clinging to his damp cheeks. "It hurts…"
"It hurts?" Lu Yizhou leaned down with a deep frown. "What's hurt? Where are you hurting, Lan'er?" Of course, Lu Yizhou didn't get any answer. Heimo was already too delirious from the high fever. Helplessness shook Lu Yizhou down to his very core. What should he do? He had little to none knowledge about poison in the cultivation era and general medical methods didn't apply here either…
Fortunately, 666 swooped in right at that moment like a hero.
[666: Alright, here it is, Host!]
[666: So the poison in Heimo's body is quite a deadly one. It's a slow acting poison that is meant to deliver a slow death. One more thing, it's almost untraceable and such a poison is usually created by the use of demonic cultivation. The death rate of the poison almost reaches 100% and—Waitttt, don't panic, Host. Listen to 666 first! 666 is still not done yet!]
Lu Yizhou inhaled deeply. [Continue.]
[666: And… And then, Heimo consumed the meat of celestial phoenix! That's why the poison is reacting to counter that. In short, the poison and antidote are currently fighting inside his body. After this period ends, he will be okay, Host. He only needs to bear the… discomfort for a while.]
Lu Yizhou felt the relief bloom inside him so fiercely that it seeped him out of strength. He would be okay. He would live. He was going to get through this. Lu Yizhou repeated the sentences again and again and held Heimo's hands tighter. Then, the rest of 666's sentence sank into his mind and he fell into deep thoughts. Poison created by demonic cultivation? So the people who hurt Heimo were demonic cultivators? How was it possible? Was he not their leader?
Nonetheless, he had no chance to ponder the thought further when Heimo's back suddenly arched sharply, his heel dug into the ground and his body convulsed. It was so abrupt that Lu Yizhou was almost thrown off him but he regained his bearing swiftly to press Heimo down.
Heimo's eyes rolled backward, his face twisted in agony and he bit his lips hard to muffle his scream so hard that it drew blood. Even in such an imminent peril, he didn't allow himself to shout out loud to voice his suffering.
"Lan'er…" Lu Yizhou hastily moved to bring the writhing man into his arms, holding him tightly through the struggle, chest to back. Without any further thoughts, he shoved two fingers into Heimo's mouth and winced as Heimo bit down sharply, his sharp canines piercing the skin and undoubtedly leaving a deep tooth mark. Lu Yizhou pressed his lips to the man's sweaty temple and murmured. "It's okay. You're going to be okay."
A muffled sob escaped Heimo's lips. At the same time, Lu Yizhou felt hot liquid dripped onto his hand and his heart abruptly seized in pain. He hugged Heimo tighter to him as if trying to envelop his whole body. "It's okay… It's okay…" He repeated again and again into Heimo's ear. "You're doing good. Just bear with it for a while."
An idea popped into his mind. He closed his eyes and guided his spiritual energy into Heimo's veins to meet the chaotic flow. There were two main colors that were fighting each other inside: black and gold. Lu Yizhou had just contemplated how he should proceed to achieve the best effect when his spiritual energy seemed to have grown a will of its own and tangled with the gold thread, caressing and twirling intimately.
Lu Yizhou was startled. This was… awfully familiar. The feeling of their spiritual energy melding into one — blue and gold — was akin to the previous world when he was letting his pheromones loose to soothe the upset or scared Oliver.
He swallowed the lump on his throat and let his instinct take over. The blue and gold spiritual energy was acting as one, pushing back the black thread and breaking through the blocked veins. The more they breached, the calmer Heimo became. Gradually his squirming eased and his bite on Lu Yizhou's fingers loosened. Instead he was subconsciously licking and sucking instead. His body relaxed fully in Lu Yizhou's embrace and let out a content sigh.
The two spiritual energies made a tour to every corner of Heimo's body, cleansing the impurity inside and pushing them aside into one large outflow. Until the end, when the poison and impurities had merged into one, Lu Yizhou exerted more strength to force it out of Heimo's system. Heimo's body jerked in response and Lu Yizhou took his fingers out in time for Heimo to hurl black liquid out onto the ground.
"Good. You're doing good." He whispered encouragement all the while. "It will end soon, Lan'er. You're going to be okay."
The liquid was unexpectedly abundant so Lu Yizhou lifted Heimo up and moved them to another clean place. He let Heimo lean against his shoulder as he cleaned his mouth and chest that was stained with the black liquid. After everything was done, Heimo looked visibly better. His breathing calmed and he wasn't frowning anymore. His fever had also begun to break and color had slowly returned to his cheeks. Lu Yizhou followed the curve of his spine and stroked Heimo's back all the while transmitting spiritual energy to aid with his healing.
"Hmm…" Heimo burrowed his face deeper into Lu Yizhou's neck, both arms winding around his waist. "You're warm… and smell so good…"
Lu Yizhou looked down and saw both of Heimo's eyes peacefully shut. Only then did he finally allow himself a respite and leaned against the wall, sighing, tension leaving his body in waves. He hadn't even realized that his body was covered in cold sweat. Not only that, his limbs felt as heavy as lead as if he had just fought an army. He had no idea that using his spiritual energy would be so exhausting.
[666: Not only that, Host, actually the practice of cleansing one's meridian with the help of another's spiritual energy is a method that is unheard of. It's no wonder that you're exhausted. First, you ought to keep a balanced force throughout the process otherwise the effect will backlash on both sides. And second and most important thing, you need to have a high affinity to their spiritual energy. The cultivator's golden core will usually create an automatic shield to keep them from harm and treat every outer force as a threat. The fact that you and Heimo's spiritual energy can mold seamlessly together means that he must have remembered you deep down in his subconsciousness, Host!]
[Is that so…?] Lu Yizhou gently massaged Heimo's scalp and smiled as he felt the man further liquified into his arms.
A blissful sigh came out of his lips. "Lu Yizhou…"
Lu Yizhou paused for a second. "Yes." He dropped a fleeting kiss on Heimo's temple. "I am here."
[Good job, 666. You are finally useful for once.]
[666: Gasp! H—Host, this… this is the highest acknowledgement you have ever given 666! 666 is so touched that it wants to cry!! Finally, Host has realized how useful 666 is!!!]

[Wait a minute, am I the only one who thinks that it's a normal thing? Moreover, 666, you haven't even received any praise after three worlds?! Lol that's so funny.]
666 angrily replied to the last comment. [Hmph, you know nothing about 666's Host! Being able to fish out a compliment from Host is almost as impossible as wishing that Admin God is in this forum, you know!]
[Sssssh!!! What the hell are you talking about?! Admin God can't know about this forum, it's impossible!]
[Told you!] 666 harrumphed and exited the forum. Then it went back to listening to its Host's praise. Good job, 666. Good job, 666. Good job, 666. The words reverberated through the space. The more 666 listened, the giddier it was. Hehehehe. 666 was undeniably the best! Period!
