"You…" Doctor Wyatt inhaled deeply, his face contorted. When he managed to keep up a semblance of composure again, he blurted out, hissing. "General Kai, do you even know what you are talking about right now?! The King of parasites… you're saying that our President has been taken over by the King for— no, you have to explain everything from the beginning. Right now. How do you know that it's the King in the first place? Now that we are talking about it, the cabinet of ministers have been searching for you high and low. Your subordinate, Lieutenant Yves, has submitted the request for an audience five times in the last three hours! He almost broke into my office!"  2

Lu Yizhou brought a hand up to his temple. This wasn't the right time for any of those. His hearing-sense had already picked up the faint commotion outside the hospital grounds. They had been surrounded by parasites. He made the movement to get off the bed. The gravity in his eyes made Doctor Wyatt swallow the words of protest. "Lock down the hospital. Right now."

"What for—" Doctor Wyatt's expression changed abruptly. 

Beside Lu Yizhou, Terra tensed. His eyes darted around warily and his hackles raised. Lu Yizhou instantly reached for him and held his hands tight, rubbing soothing motion on his knuckles. But it was of little use right now, Terra's instinct had been honed to sense danger, preparing him to fight at any time. 

Lu Yizhou caught the dawning horror in Doctor Wyatt's eyes. "You can sense it, can't you doctor?"  he asked.

"W—What are they?" Doctor Wyatt looked as if he was going to get sick. He held his forehead and had to grab onto the bed railing for support. If it was just one person's emotion, he could easily block it off his mind. He was also trained to tune out multiple emotions from different people around him. But this… to have a group of people together with their minds synced together, exuding the same ferocious air. Kill! Kill and take back what is ours! It was like a sharp needle was drilling into his brain, again and again, targeting the same spot and he had to pour all of his willpower not to be swayed by the sheer intensity of the murderous intent.

"The parasites." The crate in his palm rattled as if sensing that rescue was near. Lu Yizhou merely shoved it into his pocket and went to check the load in his gun. Fortunately it was full. He barked out toward Doctor Wyatt who had blanked out. "Lock down the hospital. Now!"

Doctor Wyatt scrambled to get his walkie talkie and stammered as he spoke. 

Lu Yizhou crossed the room to peer out the window and saw a sea of heads — tens, hundreds of people had formed a circle around the hospital and marching closer with an eerily uniformed movement like puppets. They came from all ages and backgrounds; men and women, old and young. The parasites had sunk their claws too deep into the society and nobody even realized it as they kept on with their lives as usual, unaware that the person beside them, their family members, their friends, or even lover, had fallen prey to the brain-sucking creatures.

He cursed as a few heads looked up and instantly zeroed in on him. 

As if a switch was flipped on, they turned frenzied and rushed into the hospital whilst the security guards scurried to close the main gate. Their number was overwhelming; they pushed, fought, clawed and bit. Stripped to their barest instinct to survive. Lu Yizhou hesitated for a split second. Should he just kill the King right now? If he did, then all of the commotion would stop. But he couldn't shake the gut feelings that in exchange, he would lose something important in return. Something that he had been striving to find out. The truth.

He inhaled and turned to Terra, holding onto the guide's shoulders firmly and staring into his eyes. "Listen to me, Terra. This fight is not yours. You should go back to your room and lock the door. There is a hand gun hidden in the bottom cabinet in the bathroom. If anyone attacks, you should shoot them in the head."

Terra sought his eyes, wavering in growing apprehension before his golden pupils finally hardened in determination. No, he mouthed. He grabbed Lu Yizhou's hand tightly. His meaning was clear: I won't back down. I will fight with you.

Lu Yizhou let out an exasperated sigh and smiled wryly. "I knew you would say that somehow."  He handed Terra the gun in his possession and clasped their hands together over it. The cold metal gradually warmed up under their skin. "Here, protect yourself with this." Lu Yizhou gave him no chance to protest as he pulled Terra toward the door.

Doctor Wyatt was cursing out a storm in the hallway. The staff that were responsible for the private ward were gathering around him like a group of flustered baby chicks. Lu Yizhou's head was buzzing, trying to keep tabs on the situation below that was getting rowdier and rowdier.

"How is it?" He asked Doctor Wyatt.

The doctor's expression was grave. "The gate has been locked but we have no idea how much longer it will last. A small portion of the… parasites have gotten past the guards and are making their way here as I speak."

"I apologize." No matter what, Lu Yizhou was entirely to blame. He had no idea that the King could summon his troops here — [No, Host!!! 666 also doesn't know anything about that QAQ there is no such information in the original plot!] — had he known, he would have gone somewhere else. No matter what, he didn't want to endanger these people who had been nothing but kind and sincere toward his lover. "I will lure them elsewhere. In the meantime, you must find a place to hide."

Doctor Wyatt disagreed. "Those who can't fight, you may go and stay with the patients, comfort them as much as you can. Those who can and are willing, you should fight together with me."

"Doctor—"

"Go." Doctor Wyatt commanded sternly. "I will hold them back."
