In the end, they voted to move Joshua into another location. He was then put into a sterile capsule where the excess liquid he produced would be instantly sucked down the drain. Joshua woke up disoriented and as soon as he caught sight of Lu Yizhou who was sitting on the corner of the room playing with a sharp blade between his fingers, he instantly turned as pale as a ghost, pleading. "Don't kill me! Please don't kill me! I—I really didn't want this to happen. I swear, the parasite is forcing me!"

Lu Yizhou would hate to spill blood in front of his lover and he was relieved that Joshua was cooperating. It seemed like the last attack from Terra had weakened the parasite, allowing Joshua to take over his consciousness once more. They took his blood sample — it was still crimson, to Doctor Wyatt's surprise — and then he answered Lu Yizhou's questions one by one, including the thing Lu Yizhou wanted to know the most — and that was on how to fight against the parasite inside him.

When Lu Yizhou exited the room after disinfecting himself, he joined the others in Doctor Wyatt's office. Seeing Terra's sleepy face, Lu Yizhou's heart instantly melted as he pulled the guide to him so he could lean on Lu Yizhou's shoulder. 

"What do you think?" He asked Doctor Wyatt.

Doctor Wyatt mulled over his notes before answering. "If what Joshua said about a guide's spiritual elements being used as a shield to protect the brain from the parasite was true, then we might be able to perform an extraction surgery on him with minimum damage. There's a high possibility that he will pull through this. General Ethan has taken Lieutenant Yves' blood sample. Luckily, he's still in the first stage of infection. If we use the same method on him, the possibility of success is 70%. It's better than nothing."

Lu Yizhou knew that Joshua and Yves would definitely survive this mishap but he still nodded, pretending he knew nothing. 

"What are you going to do with the King?" Doctor Wyatt inquired.

Finally the question Lu Yizhou had been waiting for. "If…" He swept his gaze around, making sure that they knew the gravity of his words. "If the surgery succeeded on Lieutenant Yves, then it could be applied on me too."

For a while, there was silence. And then, as Doctor Wyatt registered what Lu Yizhou was saying, he instantly shot to his feet, alarmed. "You… You are going to let the King into your body?! Are you insane?!"

Terra bolted upright and stared at Lu Yizhou with panic, the drowsiness on his eyes dissipated into thin air, replaced by deep fear for the reckless move Lu Yizhou was going to do. Lu Yizhou tried to project reassurance and comfort through their bond while waiting for Doctor Wyatt and General Ethan to finish talking him out of the so-called 'absurd and irrational idea'. High as the risk might be, Lu Yizhou already made his decision. 

"I trust you, Doctor Wyatt," he said in a placid tone.

"This is not a matter of trust!" Doctor Wyatt threw his hands up to the air, discontented. "There are too many complications and it's the King we are talking about! The risk is too large! What if we are not able to bring you back? What if the King manages to suck your brain and turn you into his vessel? What if… What if…"

The more Doctor Wyatt said, the paler Terra became. Lu Yizhou held up a hand, cutting the doctor mid-sentence. His tone left no room for rebuttal as he declared. "I think it's better if we discuss this tomorrow after a good night's rest. I still stand with my decision, doctor. But fret not, I will come and talk to you tomorrow. Until then, please excuse us." He tugged Terra out of the room, ignoring the angry bellow behind.

They returned to Terra's room and the tranquility instantly loosened some knots on Lu Yizhou's shoulders. It was only two days ago that he left Terra to sneak an attack on President Merrick, but it seemed to be an event of a lifetime ago. Terra also relaxed upon entering the room he was familiar with, even though the tension was still lingering on his body. As soon as the door closed behind them, Terra turned to face him with his arms crossed over his chest. "Explain."

"I will." Lu Yizhou couldn't help but chuckle. Such a little impatient kitten he was. "But don't you think it's better if we wash up first? Afterall, the last time we did—"

But—But you're not allowed to deflect my questions after that, okay…?" After saying that, he opened his arms with his eyes straying to the side, blush deepening in color; shyly asking for hugs. The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips ticked upward as he wrapped his arms around his lover and carried him into the bathroom.

As much as Lu Yizhou wished to ravage his lover, he could sense that Terra was truly exhausted thus he devoted all of his attention to washing Terra's body and hair. He even managed to ignore Terra's half-hard cock, which was a stellar achievement if you asked him. A pang of sadness struck Lu Yizhou at the question. Exactly how deep of a trauma had he engraved into his lover for him to ask such a question? "I have so many things I want to ask." Terra drew circles on Lu Yizhou's chest. "But I have no idea where to start."

"Alright." Lu Yizhou took a deep breath to steel himself. He paused for a second because the system's warning would usually come before he could proceed with the act. But then, he heard nothing of the sort, thus he let himself relax and grasped Terra's hand, dropping one kiss after another on his knuckles. "You already know that my real name is Lu Yizhou."

Terra perked up, nodding.

"Then you must have already guessed that I am not the real General Kai. I mean, Kai indeed exists but I am the one occupying his body now." Lu Yizhou spoke slowly to let the words seep into Terra's mind. "The same goes with CEO Lu, Raphael, Altair and Jingxue-Jun, I was also occupying their bodies. Or to be exact, I was taking over their character. I am not of this world or any other worlds in your memory, Terra."
