7.9 Invisibility Cloak

Moshe raised a brow, amused. He ran his gaze across Lu Yizhou's body as if saying, "You want to go out in this condition?"2

But Lu Yizhou wouldn't be Lu Yizhou if not for his stubbornness. "Take me with you, Mo— Mr. Mo." 

Moshe almost smiled at his slip of tongue. Almost, but then he replied mercilessly. "Why should I?" Without giving Lu Yizhou any time to react, he opened the door and walked out. Faintly, Lu Yizhou heard him saying to the person outside. "Have more people guard this door. If something happens to him, I will have your head."

Lu Yizhou threw his head into the pillow and groaned. There went his golden opportunity. How was he supposed to do anything when he was locked up like this? He inhaled deeply, eyes blazing in determination. This wouldn't do. He wouldn't just sit still and let destiny roll its way into Moshe's life. 

He craned his neck to inspect the kind of cuffs around his wrists, an amused twitch forming on the corner of his lips. Had his lover underestimated him so much thinking that these simple handcuffs would be able to hold him back?

Less than five minutes later, Lu Yizhou already freed himself, panting and sweaty all over. The laceration on his side hurt like hell and it seemed like he had aggravated his fractured ribs again. He had to stop to compose his breath until the pain subsided.

Before the match with Shea The Hulk, he had spent 500 points purchasing five low level Nourishing Pills which helped him to stand on his feet until the very end. This time though, he had the feeling that simply low level medicine wouldn't be enough.

For a 150 points pill, it was indeed more effective than the ones he had before. Just one was enough to soothe the throbbing burn on his chest and make him feel refreshed as if he had just dumped his head into a bucket of cold water. 

Without making any sound, he started to do a set of exercises to warm his body up. Only after that did he rummage through the room in search of something to wear. Apparently this was a guest room, which was fortunate because there were two clean pairs of clothes inside the closet.

Lu Yizhou slipped one on himself. It was too tight on his shoulder and chest area, and the hem of the pants barely clinging to his ankles. Lu Yizhou gave a casual shrug. Beggars didn't get to choose so he had to make do with it. 

Now the most important question was… how did he get out of here?

The next twenty minutes were spent on planning an escape route, which was almost nil to begin with because his lover turned out to be quite a paranoid man with 24/7 patrolling around the area and no blind spots. No matter how Lu Yizhou pondered on it, he had to fight at least two times on his way out and it still didn't count the number of reinforcements coming his way from behind. 

With his condition, he would tire himself out first before he could even catch up with Moshe. 

Lu Yizhou clicked his tongue. He actually wanted to save up his points for emergency times but at this rate, it seemed like he didn't have a choice.

He selected the skill he had been eyeing on.

Lu Yizhou crossed the room with footsteps as light as a ghost, plastered his ears to the door and after confirming that there were no approaching footsteps, yanked the door open in one swift movement, startling the two people that were standing right in front. Their eyes rounded in shock as they saw Lu Yizhou. "Y—You… You are not supposed to be—hmmph!" 

Lu Yizhou chopped the back of the guard's neck and moved to the second person before the poor man could react. Three minutes later, Lu Yizhou fastened the cuffs around their wrists, tying them to the bedpost. He strained his ears to listen and heaved a sigh of relief when he heard no incoming footsteps. It seemed like whoever was supposed to watch over the CCTVs hadn't noticed that two guards had disappeared.

He took a deep breath.

As soon as the notification sounded and he felt something soft and heavy landed on his shoulders, Lu Yizhou broke into a mad dash down the hallway.

Lu Yizhou navigated his way through the five story mansion akin to a fish in the water as he had already engraved the blueprint to his mind. It took him less than five minutes to get to the courtyard. 

Moshe's mansion — or fortress to be exact — didn't have any back door. Every entry had to be recorded from the front gate, even when it was only food delivery men. Not only that, he had planted the top of his walls with electric spikes. And the voltage really wasn't a joke, it was strong enough to blast off someone's head. Lu Yizhou might be able to evade them with his usual state but as of now… he might as well become a block of roasted meat before he could manage to escape.

Without a pause he turned to run to the front gate and of course, it was locked. The mansion's gate was just like its owner, impenetrable. It was built in order to prevent people from breaking and climbing in or out. The solid, metal door stood in front of Lu Yizhou like a giant barrier. He let out a string of curses. Now how should he go out without alerting anyone? Even with the Invisibility Cloak, it didn't mean he could run through metals! 

With a huff, Lu Yizhou glided to the security post and saw two sleepy guards. A brilliant idea formed in his mind.

He gathered a few pebbles from the ground and threw them in the opposite direction near the bushes. It rustled wildly as if someone was actually sneaking around. The guards startled awake. "Who's there?!" 

Lu Yizhou leisurely threw more peebles.

"Holy— who are fucking in the bushes?! Don't they know that Boss prioritizes hygiene the most?" One of them grumbled and grabbed the baton, swinging it fiercely as he rushed to catch the nonexistent horny couple. 

The other guard snickered. "Ey, tell them to tone it down, will you?" His attention was clearly drawn outside so Lu Yizhou snuck into the post and pressed the button to open the main gate. After that, he rushed out again.

The guard only felt a gush of cold wind behind his nape. "Shit…" He looked around warily and rubbed his neck. "Ken, is that you? Are you coming back to haunt the mansion? I have told you before that you shouldn't have accepted the previous mission—"

"Hey!" The other guard who was checking outside returned with confusion on his face. "Why are you opening the main gate?"

"Huh…? What are you—" He craned his neck outside to see and indeed, the main gate was rumbling open! A shrill cry escaped his lips. He fell off his chair and landed on the ground with a loud thump, eyes wide in fright. "I—It is Ken! Boss' former driver who died after a shot to his head two weeks ago! He must be returning to haunt us!"

"Nonsense! Close the main gate first. I will go and check if there's someone suspicious." He rummaged through the drawer and exclaimed in surprise. "Eh? Where's my gun? Where have you put my gun?"

"I—I have never touched your gun!"

"There's only you and me here! If it's not me, then it must be you!"

"I told you, it's Ken!!!"

"Check if anything is missing!"

The frightened guard looked around in panic. "My… My wallet! I put my wallet on the table and now it's gone! Ken, where have you taken my wallet to?!!!"

Lu Yizhou, whose special skill had started to wear off, was speed walking down the street whilst sticking to the dark corner to avoid surveillance cameras. He slipped the gun into his back pocket and took only the cash inside the wallet before tossing it to the nearby trash can. 

He had never done something like this before nor did he expect that one day, he would resort to stealing and sneaking around like a goddamn lowly thief. It was unexpectedly… thrilling. Lu Yizhou couldn't resist a chuckle, chilly night wind ruffling his hair.
