7.20 Feel Free To Use Me
2It was late but Lu Yizhou was still wide awake, staring at the white ceiling with Cheryl's small body stuck to his side. 4
He knew he would be safe in Moshe's mansion but still, his brain didn't want to cooperate. First, there were a lot of able men around whose true intentions he couldn't ascertain and they had weapons at their disposal. Second, what 666 said had pushed his mind further into overdrive, filling it with so many conspiracy theories he didn't even know where to start. Third, his lover wasn't here by his side.
With a last sigh, Lu Yizhou pushed himself off the bed and decided to go out. As he had expected, there were two guards outside the door. Their eyes turned wary as they caught sight of Lu Yizhou. "Where are you going?"
"To Boss." Lu Yizhou lied with a straight face. "He has just summoned me."
The guards hesitated. It wasn't their business what Moshe and this man were up to in the middle of the night. Not to mention the incident this evening… Their cheeks flushed just by recalling it. "W—Well, go ahead."
Lu Yizhou nodded. "Thank you for your hard work." With the confidence of someone who knew their way around the house, Lu Yizhou made his way to the wing Moshe lived in. The excuse seemed to work like magic because everytime he said it, the guards stammered, not meeting his eyes before letting him pass just like that.
Relying solely on his memory of the mansion's blueprint, Lu Yizhou went to Moshe's room only to realize that nobody was there. He heaved out a sigh. [Did he go out?]
[666: No, he's in the study, Host. To work so late into the night, he's so hardworking and diligent! 666 is so proud of him!]
He was still working? Lu Yizhou's brows furrowed lightly. Instead of going straight to the study, Lu Yizhou opted to make a detour to the kitchen — different than the one that 666 had blown up earlier. He shuffled back and forth to gather the ingredients he needed and whipped up a glass of fruit smoothie with lots of milk in less than fifteen minutes. He also cut an apple into pieces and displayed it beautifully atop of the plate. Carrying the tray of midnight snacks, he sauntered to Moshe's study.
"Moshe." He knocked on the door. "May I come in?"
Moshe's smile looked kinda different than usual, like he was forcing himself to do it. "Why aren't you sleeping?"
Lu Yizhou paused for a split second before walking in. Had Moshe found out something? "I can't sleep." Putting the tray on the empty space on Moshe's desk, he said. "It's getting late. Don't force yourself too hard and have some snacks."
Moshe's eyes flicked back and forth between the tray and Lu Yizhou's face. "This…"
"I made it myself."
"Hmm…" Moshe merely leaned back into the chair and didn't take it.
Was he afraid that I would poison him? Lu Yizhou thought helplessly. Alas, he couldn't exactly blame Moshe though. He was the leader of a prominent mafia clan. The people who wanted to see him dead could line up around the Earth twice. Lu Yizhou was grateful that Moshe was very capable of taking care of himself.
He took a piece of apple and bit off the edge, carrying it to Moshe's mouth to feed him. "Open up."
Perhaps he was stunned that Lu Yizhou could guess his thoughts, or perhaps he didn't expect that Lu Yizhou would be so bold, Moshe let Lu Yizhou push the apple past his lips. His eyes were two burning points trained on Lu Yizhou's face, itching to scrutinize each corner to know what he was thinking.
"Aiden…" Moshe's voice was slightly muffled due to the apple. He chewed and swallowed before continuing, "Are you really Aiden?"
Lu Yizhou knew that this question would come up sooner or later. He wouldn't say that his acting skill was top notch to be able to become the true 'Aiden', and Moshe was too intelligent not to notice the signs. Lu Yizhou let out a sigh, sucked a bit of the smoothie into his mouth before giving Moshe the rest. After Moshe had drunk half of the glass, he replied. "If I say no, will you believe me?"
Moshe's pupils dilated. His hand subconsciously reached under the desk where Lu Yizhou knew would be where the gun was. The tense line of Moshe's jaws clenched and unclenched, his eyes narrowed in warning. He looked like a beast ready to pounce so long as Lu Yizhou showed the slightest bit of provocation.
Lu Yizhou didn't react and merely looked at him with a calm expression. The image of Moshe pressing the muzzle against his forehead flashed through his mind. Even then, Lu Yizhou was sure that he wouldn't resist. "You must have done a background check on me to reach this conclusion."
Instead of confirming, Moshe asked. "Two days ago, did you meet Zion? Was it you who broke his arms?"
"Yes." Lu Yizhou admitted.
Click. The gleaming muzzle of the gun was pointed toward Lu Yizhou. Moshe had just released the safety lever, his finger resting on the trigger. If he had just exerted a bit of strength, then Lu Yizhou would have died with a hole on his head.
Moshe stood up and rounded the table to stand right in front of him, the gun still pressed to his head. "What are your intentions? Do you deliberately get close to me? Were the things you said this evening… a lie?"
"Yes and no." Lu Yizhou suddenly grabbed the barrel of the gun, catching Moshe off guard, and yanked it down so the muzzle would press right on his heart. Moshe tried to pull back by reflex but Lu Yizhou held him in place with iron strength. He leaned in, silver eyes clashed with golden, both equally intense like fire and ice. "None of the things I have said to you will ever be a lie. I love you… so much you will not be able to imagine the extent of it."
Out of sight, his other hand reached behind Moshe to grab another piece of sweet, slightly sour apple and fed it into Moshe's gaping mouth. The juice caused Moshe's lips to glisten and Lu Yizhou used his thumb to rub it back and forth.
Moshe's breath quickened and his eyes narrowed in contemplation. Aiden had repeatedly tested his bottom line, invading his personal space, using his own moves against him… Moshe's grip tightened on the gun. His palm felt clammy and the knowledge that Aiden's life and death depended on his one finger was enough to make him break out in cold sweat. What if he had fired by accident just now?!
"I know who you are… and Zion is your nemesis. You have been wanting to get rid of him for ages." Lu Yizhou took a step forward, slowly crowding Moshe against the table. Their bodies would have stuck closely together had it not for the gun between them. It was pressing almost painfully against Lu Yizhou's ribcage now but all sensation was lost to the back of his mind as he looked into Moshe's shocked eyes.
The thumb that was still on Moshe's lips moved to caress his jaw, oh so gently that it sent shivers down the man's spine. Their faces were barely an inch from each other, noses brushing and breaths intermingling, further increasing the tension between them. So thick that sparks could fly at any moment. "Sweetheart…" Lu Yizhou rasped. "Your enemy will be mine, so will your friend. I would love nothing more than to present his head to your feet… but unfortunately, I am not allowed to do that."
"I have said it before… I will be your pet, your toy… your everything." Lu Yizhou's eyes flicked to Moshe's lips, his teeth itching to bite but he firmly held himself back. Propping his palm on the table behind Moshe, Lu Yizhou declared with a murmur against his lips. "I can also be your weapon, your trump card, your shield. Feel free to use me however you want…" Their lips brushed ever so slightly before Lu Yizhou tilted his head to whisper into Moshe's ears. "...afterall a pet should obey his master's every command, right?"
