Lu Yizhou was standing over the window in the back of the hall near the toilet when he sensed someone approaching. Knowing exactly who it was, he turned around and nodded in acknowledgement as if they were acquaintances. "Mr. Tenley."2
Zion was holding onto a burning cigarette between his fingers, smoke blurring his dark eyes that were transfixed on Lu Yizhou. "Aiden. I have been waiting to meet you again." He strolled toward Lu Yizhou, saying, "Last time, you were talking so pompously that I thought you were some kind of powerful young master. Turns out… you are nothing but a high school dropout who makes a living through illegal fighting and now…" The corner of his lips curled into a mockery sneer. "You have risen in rank to become Moshe's pet. It's no wonder that you can act so daring and gutsy. But do you think he will be able to protect you all the time?"
Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes. The only people who knew Lu Yizhou's title as 'Moshe's pet' were only limited to the guards who directly worked in the mansion. The fact that Zion could get this piece of information meant that there had been a traitor. Lu Yizhou clicked his tongue. Moshe wouldn't be happy to hear this.
"You have done a very comprehensive background check on me." Lu Yizhou said casually. "I never expected that the esteemed Mr. Tenley would be so invested in a… high school dropout and his nemesis' pet."
Zion narrowed his eyes at the sarcasm jab. He scanned Lu Yizhou's face thoroughly, trying to find the slightest hint of anger or humiliation and found none. He didn't look affected at all that his less-than-respectful background was exposed right in front of his face. Zion's brows knitted lightly. Why didn't this man react as how Zion pictured him to be? Did he not feel ashamed and furious that Zion had held on to his weakness and could use it to blackmail him? Was he not afraid that Zion could expose it right here, in front of hundreds of the most influential people in the country, and thoroughly stain his master's name?
Lu Yizhou snorted, vaguely sensing the line of Zion's thoughts. Like hell he was going to give the man satisfaction to see him react. The reason why Zion decided to show himself tonight couldn't just be to taunt Lu Yizhou on his face. Not to mention that he was bringing the bug with him as well…
Lu Yizhou turned sideways to catch Zion's eyes. "Mr. Zion, care to tell me what's in your mind?"

'I can't fathom why Moshe brought him here. It's not like he has anything other than his looks. That smiling bastard really took in any Tom, Dick and Harry under his wings. He even sheltered such a cheap thing. So lowly yet dared to go against me… Like master, like pet. I really want to wreck them to pieces.'
Zion flicked the cigarette, letting the ash drift to the ashtray placed on the windowsill. He was careful not to let any contempt show in his eyes. "What do you want to know?"
"For example…" Lu Yizhou showed a pondering look. "The two gentlemen with you today. It seems like I have seen one of them with my master before. As for the other… is he your beau?"
Zion snorted. Ha… one was a leech whilst the other was an annoying piece of baggage. Yes, Regius might be quite helpful during the time when he was stuck in that old apartment and Cedric was a good little plaything for Zion to fool around with when he was pent-up with frustration. Nothing less and nothing more. If not for today's plan, Zion might not even bring the two of them with him. Who knew what kind of words had spread amongst the upper echelon who attended the auction tonight?
*So what if he's my beau, what if he's not?" Zion drawled. "What does it have to do with you?"
Just then, the pager in Zion's pocket buzzed, telling him that Moshe had realized his pet was missing and it would be up to Regius to stall him as long as possible. Zion carefully lowered his eyelids to hide the cold malice underneath.
He had been waiting for two months… The previous raging fury had cooled to be freezing lava, not less intense but still destructive nonetheless. It wouldn't be the first time he had met someone who irked him… and it certainly wouldn't be the last time he secretly got rid of them after making them suffer a fate worse than death either.
In his possession was Cobalt Fang's brand new drug, tested in the most depraved house of prostitutions. The result had been immensely satisfying. Men or women, as soon as they took a whiff of the drug, would instantly lose their senses, stripped of their will and did whatever the others told them. They would be the perfect 'doll' to be twisted and molded. A marrionette, dancing and dancing even until their limbs were broken, never stopping until death came knocking in front of their door.
To witness Moshe's companion fallen into depravity in front of hundreds of people from all kinds of prominent backgrounds, as well as reporters who wouldn't hesitate to tear their claws and fangs into the news… wouldn't it be the best revenge outcome one could think of?
Zion's lips curled up into a barely discernible smile. He couldn't wait to see Moshe's face when it happened.
He was too engrossed in managing his own expression that he failed to notice the chill that seeped into Lu Yizhou's eyes. Every single thought in Zion's mind had been transmitted to him without fail. Goodness… some people just couldn't mind their own business, could they? They kept insisting on harming others for their own benefits, uncaring of the consequences that followed and subsequently they wouldn't feel an ounce of guilt either.
It seemed like Cedric had failed to melt the Ice Madman. Zion's heart remained vicious to this day without that ray of light shining through the darkness. He chose to see nothing but the malignant tumor of society, unaware that close to his side was someone who could pull him out of the quagmire and teach him how to love.
For people like him, Lu Yizhou was going to slap them right on their face and teach them some unforgettable lesson. If he still couldn't learn after this… well, it would be no one's fault but himself.
A waiter was walking behind them, carrying a tray full of champagne glasses. For some reason, he suddenly tripped and lost his balance with a surprised cry. The thin glasses crashed to the ground, shattering into pieces and the liquid splashed to both of the gentlemen's suits.
"Oh my God, I am so sorry!" Pale faced, the waiter bowed again and again, trembling like a leaf against the harsh wind. "Please forgive me, Sirs! I didn't do it on purpose!"
The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips twitched. There was nothing that could trip someone here so how could someone with perfectly fine legs slip all of a sudden? This waiter's act wasn't too good.
Zion checked his suit irritatedly. "Where's the resting lounge?"
"I—I will bring you there, Sirs! Please follow me!"
Zion walked in front while Lu Yizhou stayed in place, staring at him with narrowed eyes. "S—Sir?" The waiter gave a shaky, pleading look. Eyes full of unshed tears. "Please…"
"Fine." Lu Yizhou said. "Lead us there."

Mini theater
As Lu Yizhou and Zion's back drew further and further away, the window on the back hall clicked open and a small figure climbed in, huffing and puffing.
Cheryl, with a stripe of dirt on her cheek and leaves on her hair, wiped the non-existent sweat on her forehead. "Mission accomplished!" She looked around with bright eyes, grinning. "Time to rescue daddy!"
