8.3 Magical Cat Familiar

Lu Yizhou awoke to the sensation of something rough and wet sliding against his cheek. Startled, he snapped his eyes open only to come face to face with a pair of… slit ruby eyes?  1

"Meow~" The fluffy pure white cat snuggled closer to him, purring with its long tail swishing back and forth. Still a bit disoriented, Lu Yizhou reached out to support the chubby feline and stroked its warm silky fur, making the cat purr even harder. It was… very soothing, to say the least.

He soon grew alert enough to scan his surroundings. He was in a narrow room that only contained a single bed which he was laying on now. The ground was shaking slightly beneath him and a glance outside the small window beside him showed the blurred moving scenery of green mountain hills with the sky dusted in amber hues of the setting sun far in the distance.

A guess popped up in his mind.

He was in a… train berth?

"Meow~"

Lu Yizhou returned his gaze to the pliant cat in front of him and startled when the color of its eyes fully sank into his mind. No, wait — was it common for a cat to have ruby eyes as red as blood?

Lu Yizhou held the cat away from him, lips parted only to freeze when he caught sight of a huge mound in front of his chest. He had thought that it was the cat that had been making his chest feel heavy but no, he was sorely wrong. This… This was…

[666…?] Lu Yizhou's voice trembled. The shock that coursed through him was akin to a thunderstorm on a summer noonday, sending his head spinning in circles. 

Alas, before he could get an answer, a floating screen appeared in front of him and the flat mechanical voice spoke again.

You and your six companions are the fifth batch of doctors that will arrive at the Knox Residence soon. You are given seven days to cure the Madam and Miss' ailment.]]

So this heavy mound on his chest was— ugh, Lu Yizhou screwed his eyes shut and massaged his aching temple. It was at that moment that he realized his hair was long. Blonde, luscious locks that hung down to his waist. He took a deep breath and clenched his legs and… yep, the thing that was supposed to be there was gone too. Heavens… 

[666: H–Host… QAQ]

[Have you become a woman too?]

[666: *gulp* 666 doesn't have a corporeal body so… that question is a bit hard to answer.]

Lu Yizhou gritted his teeth. [So what are you crying for?] 

He had thought that this world was powerful enough to give 666 a corporeal body so Lu Yizhou could finally beat it up for all the shenanigans it had done previously. But it seemed like he had to be disappointed. Lu Yizhou heaved out a long sigh.

[666: That… That… 666 only wants to tell you that 666 can't access the original plot! QAQ Uwaaa, Host, what should we do?! Is that because 666 is identified as a player? How can 666 become a player anyway?! That is absolutely illogical!]

Once again, Lu Yizhou took a deep, deep breath to calm himself and fuck— his bountiful chest was moving along with each inhale. Veins throbbed on his forehead. He had had a pair of heavy wings on his back before, spiral horns on his head, cancer in his blood cells, sharp fangs in his mouth… yet nothing had ever given him the sinking feeling like now. What did this world mean, exchanging his big dick with a pair of bigger tits? Was it asking for a fight?!

The veins on Lu Yizhou's forehead almost burst now. Was he supposed to be assuaged this way?!

"Meow~" The soft call drew Lu Yizhou's attention away from his conversation with 666. The cat had been loafing on his lap since then, only placing one fluffy paw on his arm when he looked too agitated. 

Lu Yizhou stared at it for a few long seconds and couldn't help cradling it in his arms to bury his face into its soft fur. "Haa…" He let out a long-suffering sigh. At least the cat was docile, warm and fragrant. 

And also quite familiar somehow. 

Lu Yizhou pulled away and stared into the cat's eyes in suspicion. He received another sweet meow. The feline's ruby eyes seemed to curve into crescents that reminded him awfully of a certain someone…

He called out tentatively, "Cheryl…?"

"Meow!" The cat perked up enthusiastically, its tail swishing harder and slapping Lu Yizhou's arm again and again. 

Lu Yizhou heaved a sigh of relief and gathered the cat closer in his arms — as much as his chest allowed him to. But Cheryl seemed to like burying herself into the soft mound, if the purr on her throat and the half-lidded eyes were any indication. Lu Yizhou scratched the back of her ear. "So it's you… How do you become a cat this time?"

Cheryl lifted her head and gave Lu Yizhou a little kittenish lick on his cheek. Using the curve of his breasts as leverage, Cheryl stood up on her hind legs and bumped their foreheads together. In that instant, another notification rang inside Lu Yizhou's mind.

'Daddy!' Cheryl's voice rang unmistakably inside his mind. 'Daddy, it's me meow!'

"I know." Lu Yizhou chuckled softly. "I'm so glad you have made it here safely, Cheryl — no, Ozzie. I should get used to calling you that, shouldn't I? Can you sense where your Mommy is? 666 and I have some difficulties here."

'I know, it must be because of the bug meow! Daddy, they are so vicious this time! It's the most uncanny, insidious and stubborn bugs that remain here! They are hiding in this A-level world and have been wary of you ever since they detected you!' Ozzie's expression turned aggrieved as much as it could show on a cat's face. Her round ruby eyes narrowed in annoyance. 'I was trying to avoid their radar and the only way I can think of is to latch myself on to you meow! As for Mommy… I can't know for sure her identity this time but I can tell that she's in the place we are heading to meow!'

Ozzie was panting softly by the time she finished venting all of her grievance and then with another soft mewl, she buried herself back in Lu Yizhou's cleavage and rubbed her face back and forth. 

'Ahhh… Daddy's chest is so soft and comfortable meow~'

The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips twitched. In the end, he chose not to comment on that for the sake of his own sanity. "Thank you for your information, Ozzie. One more thing…" Lu Yizhou relayed the message Zeke had told him, sending Ozzie to spin in circles to chase her own tail in excitement.

'Mommy, Mommy! I love him too meow!'

Lu Yizhou patted her head in amusement. Even though they had a rough start, at least he knew that his lover was waiting for him in the Knox Residence. Now that they were talking about it, he wondered what kind of identity Zeke was taking this time…

As he was pondering on the matter, a screech echoed in the air as the train slowly came to a halt. Outside, someone was shouting the destination of this stop and Lu Yizhou recognized it as the town he was supposed to go to. Ozzie jumped to his shoulder and perched herself there, her tail circling around Lu Yizhou's neck like a little furry scarf. Lu Yizhou rewarded her with a scratch under her chin and a small smile.

"Alright, let's do this," he muttered to himself. Yet as soon as the alto feminine voice slipped out of his mouth, he cringed so hard that his teeth hurt. This might be the first time Lu Yizhou was so close to giving up on the mission even before starting. 

He steeled himself and stood up from the bed, screwing his eyes shut in utter helplessness when his breasts jiggled along with the movement. Good Lord… please bless him to be able to survive getting down from this train!
