8.18 Come With Me?

"Ji Yan, Irene, are you guys okay?!"

"Damn it, something must have happened inside! We have to break open the door!"

By the time those voices reached his ears, Lu Yizhou was pressed against the wall with his fingers entangled in his lover's hair, his lips half-swollen. His skirt had been hiked up with one of his lover's hands sliding up his thigh. He pulled away slightly only enough to take in his lover's appearance, his chest heaving from the lack of oxygen.

And oh, how beautiful she was. Haunting yet stunning all the same, shrouded with the dark shadows that seemed to cling to her whenever she went. She looked like a nightmare but for Lu Yizhou, she would be his most beautiful nightmare.

"Why did you think I would fear you when you're so beautiful?" He tucked an errant strand of hair behind her ear, genuinely curious.

In this world, his lover had a very delicate face, a pair of huge golden eyes with extremely dark shadows underneath. It would be unnerving if not for the boundless amount of Lu Yizhou's love that automatically filtered everything into cute, cute and cute. Just like Lu Yizhou, she actually bore around 80% resemblance to Zeke. Just that her skin was ghastly pale and her lips were tinged in sickly blue. Even as their lips had been entangled with each other for minutes, the rhythm of her breathing did not fluctuate even a bit, unlike Lu Yizhou who was so light-headed that he felt he was going to faint at any moment. 

Clad in a black gothic dress with her straight long black hair that fell almost to her knees, she was an absolute sight to behold. Lu Yizhou had always thought that his female form was taller than average but his lover was even taller, Lu Yizhou had to crane his neck a bit to look at her.

"I have never quite met anyone like you before…" She pressed him harder against the wall, enough for Lu Yizhou to let out a breathless gasp in return. This was all because of two additional lumps of fat on his chest! It was squished between their chests so hard that he couldn't breathe! Her thumb grazed across his spit-swollen lips and the corner of her lips tilted in a mirthful smirk. "Everyone fears me so… but why don't you?"

Lu Yizhou retorted. "Do I have a reason to?"

She blinked once, then laughed softly. However, Lu Yizhou could see that she was still not convinced. "Oh my sweet lady… you have no idea what I am capable of."

Hearing the ruckus outside the door that was growing louder and louder by each second, the smile abruptly vanished from her face to be replaced with a scowl. Lu Yizhou vividly felt the temperature plunging around him, enough to caress the exposed heated skin of his and covered it in goosebumps. "Insolent humans," she spat out. "Dare to intrude my house and do as they please."

"I know you do not like strangers," Lu Yizhou grabbed hold of her face, startling her into flicking her gaze back to him, seemingly amused at his audacity. He swallowed and blurted out, "Why don't you come with me?"

"Oh?" She tilted her head to the side. "Where?"

"Someplace… out of here."

"Why should I when I already have everything I need here?" She asked in a matter-of-fact tone.

Well… that was certainly a question that was hard to answer. But Lu Yizhou was an old veteran. He had spent years — decades in studying his lover, peeling off layer and layer of different personalities to find their core that would remain the same through worlds. And that was… how weak they were to temptation.

"Are you sure?" He slid one leg between her thighs and whispered into her ear with a silky smooth tone. "Milady, I can offer you something you don't even know you need." The arm holding his waist stilled and Lu Yizhou had to resist a triumphant smile. He knew it, deep down his lover had not changed at all.

"Oh…" She sounded a little breathless now. "And what does it entail?"

Alas, before Lu Yizhou could continue on his mission of seduction, a groan came from somewhere beneath their feet. Lu Yizhou had the urge to bang his head against the wall. How could he have forgotten that Ji Yan was still here, unconscious on the bathroom floor?! Ji Yan's eyelids were twitching violently, presumably woken up by the continuous pounding and loud calls from outside. He was going to wake up anytime soon!

His lover let out a sigh, so cold that it materialized into mist as soon as it came out of her lips. Under Lu Yizhou's stare, her features slowly blurred as though melting into the darkness and the weight pinning Lu Yizhou downblightened considerably. "I would very much like to hear more about your offer but… it seems like we have to take a rain check." Then before she completely disappeared, she leaned forward to whisper into Lu Yizhou's ear.

In the next second, the bathroom door slammed open and two people stumbled in.

Olivia caught herself before she could fall flat to the ground and scrambled to the barely conscious Ji Yan. "Ji Yan!" She kneeled beside him and patted his face in worry. "Are you okay?! Did the ghost hurt you?!"

Ailín staggered in and supported himself by holding the wall. He scanned his surroundings in caution, his gaze stopped for a few seconds on the mannequin before shifting to Lu Yizhou. He asked carefully, "Are you okay, Miss Irene? What has happened here?"

Lu Yizhou regained his bearings and raked his fingers through his long locks. A glance to the mirror told him that his lips indeed look a little ravished, but fortunately not so conspicuous under the dim light. "There's a ghost," he said while looking around. "Where is Diana?"

"She is not feeling well so she has returned first to the room," Ailín replied carelessly as he pulled out a flash of wine and gulped down a few mouthfuls, again. Lu Yizhou frowned. She had returned first? Alone? 

"We know there's a ghost!" Olivia rolled her eyes as she helped Ji Yan to stand up. "But what happened? Why did Ji Yan scream so loud?"

Ji Yan had knocked his head when he fell down earlier. He was actually still a little dizzy plus distracted by the swelling on the back of his head, but as soon as he recalled what he had seen before he fainted, colors drained from his face and he let out another cry, tears forming on the corner of his eyes. "G–Ghost! There's a ghost, the woman ghost!" He pointed at the direction of the bathtub without daring to look at it. With his eyes squeezed tight, he hid to the closest source of warmth, which was coincidentally the crook of Olivia's neck.

Lu Yizhou would have made one or two comments about how fast their relationship progressed had he not been distracted by the words his lover said before he disappeared. 

She'd told him, "Be careful of those around you." It was clearly a warning but… for what and whom?

Lu Yizhou raked his fingers through his hair and his attention was soon diverted to where the others were crowding around.

The mannequin, who had previously had her neck twisted to stare at Lu Yizhou with a terrifying smile on her face, had gone back to staring off to the opposite wall with a wistful smile on her face. There was no sign of blood on her body. In fact, the heavy stench of blood had vanished without a trace as if everything that had just taken place was merely a fragment of illusory. 

However, there was now an additional crack on the back of her skull as if hit by something dull. And on the wall beside her was a scrawl written with barely half-dried blood.

[On the night of the full moon, she will return once again to reclaim everything that belongs to her.]
