8.20 Silver Bullet
Of all moments, he did not expect to see his female form for the first time in the system profile. Lu Yizhou screwed his eyes shut as if they had been burned. Who the fuck was this huge-chested, curvy, foxy-eyed blonde?!2
The face actually got around 80% resemblance to Lu Yizhou's real face but paired with the heart-shaped chin, plump juicy lips, naturally thick lashes and half-lidded eyes, he… he looked like a temptress out there to seduce every male on Earth or something. Lu Yizhou almost did not want to acknowledge that it was really him!
Fuck, it was no wonder that Olivia acted so salty toward him. Adding on to his perpetual somber or placid look, he looked so haughty as if the whole world should bow down to him!
'What's wrong, Daddy?' Ozzie put a fluffy paw on his arm. 'You look a little green on the face meow…'
Ozzie's voice snapped Lu Yizhou out of his reverie and he shook his head, too caught up with the revelation of his female form to speak. Without a word, he grabbed her paws and kneaded her soft little toe beans, squeezing and pressing them like a stress ball. Fortunately, Ozzie seemed to like it as she stretched her body across Lu Yizhou's lap and flopped down on her belly, purring louder than a motor engine.
It was a very good distraction and Lu Yizhou slowly felt himself calming down otherwise he was just this close to getting a mental breakdown.
Calm down, Lu Yizhou. So what if you look like this? As long as you don't think of it, then it won't become a problem! Yes, from now on he should have just pretended he never saw anything! Out of sight, out of mind.
He turned his gaze downward. Below the profile photo was a short description of his identity.

Lu Yizhou froze, unable to react even as Ozzie lifted her head in confusion and nudged Lu Yizhou's palm with her head. 'Daddy… is something wrong? Your face is kinda scary meow…'
'It's… nothing,' he replied absentmindedly. Obviously it was not nothing. The inside of Lu Yizhou's head was in chaos. How how how? The questions hammered down on him like thunderclap amid the clear summer day. He pressed his lips tightly together, eyes swimming around the two worlds as though he could no longer see anything else.
Silver Bullet.
It was the title Lu Yizhou had borne in the past, when he was still an assassin working for 'that' organization. Those two words instantly dug out the memory Lu Yizhou would rather forget.
He could almost hear their voices beside his ears. "Throw the Silver Bullet out." "Yeah, just hand the mission over to him. He is named Silver Bullet[1] for a reason." "As long as we still have the Silver Bullet, nothing will stand in our way."
He squeezed his eyes shut and slapped himself so hard that he accidentally bit on the inside of his cheek. Ozzie was shocked into standing, eyes wide in surprise. 'Daddy?! What happened to you meow?!'
'Nothing,' Lu Yizhou swallowed the blood in his mouth. A lodge was stuck firmly on his throat, unable to be moved. He almost felt nauseous again as if the previous health potion he consumed had gone down the drain at these two nightmarish words.
He had never expected to hear that title again after such a long time. How…? How could it appear here? The only people who knew to associate this title with Lu Yizhou were only the higher-ups in that organization and now that it showed up here, inside the simulator… Lu Yizhou's heart lurched in his chest. Did it mean that… this project had something to do with that organization?
No, no, that was not certain yet. For starters, this simulator was linked with his brain, meaning that it might be able to read his memory and coincidentally, came across this title and ended up using it.
Lu Yizhou tried to convince himself. If it was only a coincidence, then no problem. He could take it as bad luck to cross paths with this ominous title yet again. But if it was not… then what should he do? What more did they want from him?
Lu Yizhou pinched his brows and let out a long sigh. This was truly awful… He couldn't wait for everything to end so he could return to the rest station, back to his lover's warm embrace and loving smiles. With his eyes closed, Lu Yizhou's ears suddenly picked up something.
'Do you hear that?' He asked Ozzie.
'Hear… Hear what?' Ozzie's ears perked up and her little face was scrunched up in focus. Her snowy white ears twitched and she turned to Lu Yizhou with widened eyes. 'Daddy, there are footsteps!'
Right, amidst the glaring silence of the night, a series of footsteps echoed loud and clear. Thump-thump-thump. It sounded steady and quite far away. Lu Yizhou stood up in alarm. If he could hear it… then it also meant that the others could because his room was practically situated in the furthermost corner of the hallway. Lu Yizhou waited for a few long minutes, long after the first set of footsteps grew further away but he did not hear any signs of activity from the others.
Strange… he knitted his brows. They couldn't be so obedient not to come out and investigate just because of the house rules, right? Or… were they currently unable to investigate?
A horrible guess popped up in his mind following that thought.
What if… the only one who suffered from a sudden case of sleepwalking was not Lu Yizhou alone, but… all of them?
Lu Yizhou walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. He looked up to see the moon shining brightly amidst the pitch black sky. Not quite full yet but almost. He narrowed his eyes as he recalled the words that were written on the bathroom wall. 'Do you know when is the night of the full moon?'
'Yes, it's five days from now, on the 13th meow!'
