Lu Yizhou stared at his lover, intent to gauge the answer through the slightest shift of her expression. But the longer he looked, Ellie's face started to blur around its edges. Huh…? Lu Yizhou blinked and rubbed his eyes. "Milady, you…" He did not see wrongly. Ellie's body had indeed started to dissipate into smokes. Lu Yizhou's heart sank as he reached out for her only to grab onto thin air. "Milady!"2

"Ah," Ellie did not look surprised at all. She merely gave Lu Yizhou a wry grin. "It seems like my time is up today." She placed a palm on his cheek and it was like having a soft breeze caressing his skin, soft yet not tangible. "It's okay, don't put on such a stricken look. Wait until the full moon. I need to conserve my strength to protect…" Her lips moved but no words came out of it. 

To protect who? From what? But before Lu Yizhou could ask anything, her form had faded away, so smoothly and quietly it was as if she was merging into the dark shadows in the room. Lu Yizhou did not drag his eyes away even until Ellie completely disappeared and left him alone in this big bedroom, his fists clenching on the mattress. It was still wrinkled due to them tossing around but Lu Yizhou couldn't even feel any heat in it. It was as though… from the start, he had always been alone.

He pursed his lips. The resolve to revive his lover just strengthened all the more. He propped himself up by the elbow and raked his fingers through his tousled hair, but it was then that his eyes landed on the empty space beside him.

There was a stem of glossy black feather on it. The color was almost the same as the mattress, if not for how it had shifted into midnight blue when hit by the moonlight. Lu Yizhou slowly let a smile show on his face as he gently picked the feather up. Once again, it transformed into a skill card in his hand.

Lu Yizhou did not know whether to laugh or cry. What was with this rapport? In less than five hours, Lu Yizhou had acquired two rare skill cards and both of them were shields that could be used to save his life! Exactly how weak did Ella and Ellie think he was? Shaking his head helplessly, Lu Yizhou saved the card into his storage. 

After that, he eyed what was left of his ripped clothes with a sigh. Ellie had been so savage that the dress could even be considered a rag now. What was he supposed to wear when he returned to his room?! Even if he had 'Invisibility Cloak' at his disposal, he did not want to be naked underneath!

[666: Umm… Host, are you done yet? Can you put on some clothes? 666 can't see anything…]

Lu Yizhou rolled his eyes. [Then keep being blind.]

He stood up and circled around the room. It was just like Ozzie had said. This room was obviously built for a little girl with the soft pink wallpaper, lacy curtain and the dolls that filled the cabinet. They resembled mini humans so much that it was getting a little too uncanny. 

The one who was directly on Lu Yizhou's eye level was a girl wearing a white flowy dress and her hair tied in two cute pigtails. Coupled with those yellow eyes that looked too huge on her face and the smile that was so wide that it almost split her face into two, she looked so creepy that if 666 could see now, he would definitely faint again. So Lu Yizhou could be considered as doing it a good service to keep its screen mosaicked.

Wait— aside from its creepiness, didn't this doll resemble Ella so much? Lu Yizhou startled at his own thoughts and hastily looked away. Was it normal for parents to commission a creepy doll that resembled their daughter so much? Lu Yizhou had no idea. Nothing was ever normal in this household so he could not even use his logic against it. His gaze then landed on the table and the diary that was still opened haphazardly. Fortunately, Ellie did not realize that something was amiss.

'Ozzie, are you there?' 

'Oh, Daddy!" Ozzie's cheerful tone echoed in his mind. 'Has Mommy left? That was so close meow! I was just hiding under the couch in the living room. Have you put on your clothes yet?'

The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips twitched. Somewhere in the corner of his mind, 666 let out a snicker. Lu Yizhou heaved out an exasperated sigh '...I think that can't be solved right now so stay there until I tell you so.'

'Oh! Oh, okay meow! Daddy I heard so many notifications earlier. Why don't you check them out first meow?'

Lu Yizhou nodded. That was a good idea. He pulled the chair out and sat down on it while he accessed his system panel. He instantly went to the inbox to see what kind of rewards he had gotten.

Lu Yizhou: "..." 

This world really had a grudge against him. He had thought that his luck would improve but… sigh, better not think too much about it. Stamina potion was also good. His stamina in this world was quite low so it would be better to have a few stamina potions in case of emergency. 

Next, Lu Yizhou went to his profile. His data had improved so much since the last time Lu Yizhou saw it. His eyes widened when he looked at his race that was previously filled with three question marks.

Lu Yizhou almost sputtered due to the shock. What the fuck? So he was a white witch all along? Why hadn't he sensed any sign of witch power within him all this time? He was so ordinary that he was just like a human! Or… could it be, the treasure Irene had lost in this mansion ten years ago was her power…?

If that was the case, then everything made sense. Now that Lu Yizhou's race was uncovered, he also gained access to the formerly sealed 'Magic Wand'. Lu Yizhou cringed at the thought of how he had to swing a wand around to perform magic. More importantly, he had not even done anything so how could it be unlocked all of a sudden?

Pure essence…? What the fuck was it talking a— Lu Yizhou's eyed widened in realization. That's right, earlier he was in the middle of eating his lover out and then… the notification suddenly rang in his mind. This time, Lu Yizhou indeed choked on nothing and almost hacked his lungs out. He couldn't believe what was happening. Don't tell him… the pure essence was referring to… to Ellie's love juices!

Holy shit, did it mean that he could regain his full power sooner or later if he ate her regularly?!
