Lu Yizhou had never played this kind of game before so… did the ending that the system laid out for them had been false all along? What would happen if they stuck to the not-true ending? Would they be trapped in this place and never seen again, just like Ellie had said earlier?

'As far as I know, none of such things will happen meow,' Ozzie explained to clear his confusion. 'Daddy, you can think of it just like an exam. For example, you need 70 points to pass the exam and that's what we call the 'Normal Ending' or the route that the system has planned out for us. The only way to clear it must be to heal Madam and Miss' illness. As for the other players who met their demise in this place… Baines had given us an ultimatum not to break the house rules so the players that ended up breaking them must have it coming meow. Daddy, this world is not like a usual game where you can restart if you die. Death really means death meow. Remember the name of this game?"

Lu Yizhou nodded in understanding. 'Nightmare Game' was a really suitable name. Lu Yizhou had no idea how this game started in the first place, but to force people to go through numerous terrifying situations where their life was barely hanging on a single thread, it was truly a nightmare. 

When Lu Yizhou thought of the worlds he had gone through previously, he came to a realization that the simulator Dr. Feng had created was actually a beautiful daydream. 'Continue,' Lu Yizhou told Ozzie. 'If normal ending is considered 70 points, then…'

'You're right, Daddy! You have unlocked the true ending, so not only will you pass the exam, you will also get a bonus meow!' The more Ozzie talked, the more excited she was. Lu Yizhou could even imagine how her whiskers would twitch around as she moved her mouth. 'In my opinion, the closer you are to the truth, then the higher your mark will be. Quest background: Ten years ago, a lady dressed in black arrived in front of the Knox Residence, claiming that she had a solution to the problem that has been plaguing the family. Delighted, Master and Madam Knox welcomed her in with great enthusiasm, but not the Miss. Upon first glance, Miss Knox instantly cried out in fear, "Witch! She's a bad witch!" Of course, Master and Madam took it as mere temper tantrum. But ever since then, strange things started to happen within the household. Maybe… Miss Knox might not be so wrong after all?

Lu Yizhou frowned. There were so many discrepancies in the quest background that added to his confusion. For starters, what problem had been plaguing the Knox Family? Ten years ago, Madam and Miss shouldn't have fallen ill but still… there was already an existing problem in the first place? Second, even if the lady in black was indeed a witch just like Miss had claimed, how could Miss identify it at first glance? Unless… she, too, was a witch?! 

Lu Yizhou blinked in surprise when the idea surfaced in his mind. He suddenly recalled what Ellie had said when they were entangled in the throes of passion — "Some of them called me a demon and some of them called me a black witch." 

If… if Ellie was really a black witch, then it wasn't impossible for her to see through the lady in black at first glance! And also, she had said that she had to conserve her strength. At that moment, Lu Yizhou couldn't hear what she was talking about anymore. But if his guess was not wrong, then… she might be trying to protect Ella from the black witch!

For some unknown reason, the black witch came to the Knox Family ten years ago and approached Ella. She might want something from her, but unfortunately she failed to notice that Ella had a protective and powerful sister who could go against her face-to-face! Until this day, the black witch must still be hiding under the dark shadows, waiting until Ellie was weakened enough and then… she would swoop in to claim what she had always wanted for a decade!

This was Lu Yizhou's mission in this world! He had to save Ella and Ellie before the black witch could overpower them! For normal players, Ellie might be considered as the big villain because she stood in their way to get to Ella and find out the exact detail of her 'illness' but because Lu Yizhou had unlocked the true ending, he knew that the one he should be wary of was the lady in black aka the black witch!

And the deadline was… the night of the full moon! 

Lu Yizhou's eyes gleamed with sharp glint. Now that he had identified his enemy, it would be so much easier to destroy them. He only had to discover her hiding place. 

But first thing first, it seemed like he had to make a visit to his bathroom once again. The ghost mannequin had said that she would claim what belonged to her on the night of the full moon. Judging from the string of events Lu Yizhou had painstakingly pieced together, then she might just be the witch Lu Yizhou was searching for!

'Wowwww, as expected of my Daddy, so smart meow!'

[666: Err… 666 doesn't quite follow but it sounds amazing meow! Wait–no, why the hell is 666 meow-ing?! This is all your despicable influence!]

'What did you say?! Are you asking for a fight, you idiot system?!'

[666: I–Idiot *shocked* How dare you?! 666 must remind you that 666 is your godfather! 666 has seen you when you're still so small, ugly and wrinkly and covered in amniotic fluid!]

'Pah! Older doesn't mean that you deserve respect as a mature adult!'

'Alright, you two. Stop bickering with each other," Lu Yizhou said exasperatedly. He stood up and took Ella's diary with him, gently cradling it in his arms. His silver eyes gleamed in determination. 'Let's return back to our room first. We have an enemy to confront.' Even though he still had five more days, he did not want to waste any more seconds. If he could kill her now, then he would!

Lu Yizhou was too heated up by the new revelations he received that he forgot one most important problem. Only when he walked across the room and felt the caresses of cold air against his bare chest did he realize that he was still half naked! He pinched his brows and let out a long sigh. 

How could he return like this?
