Earlier, when they went through the curtain in the master bedroom, they were transported into the bare luxurious room where Ozzie and Maureen were engaged in a fierce fight and surprisingly, the one they saw was not Maureen but the Madam of the Knox Family!

In other words, they witnessed Ozzie cornering Madam and bullying her!

Ji Yan was so shocked that he almost rushed forward to prevent Ozzie from killing her. 

Fortunately, Olivia stopped him before he could do that. "Wait." She said in a solemn tone. "That is not Madam. Think about it, Madam and Master Luca have reunited and the one who occupied her body right now should be the black witch we have to defeat!"

Ji Yan was enlightened and almost broke out in cold sweat. He hit his forehead. "You're right! I almost forgot about that important fact!" 

Ji Yan had obtained a super powerful control skill card from the special quest's reward and he was saving it for the last moment. If Lu Yizhou had not used his 'Silver Shield' to cover them from Master Luca's attack, Ji Yan would have controlled Luca with that card! Alas as it turned out, Lu Yizhou protected them so Ji Yan could only lay low and become a salted fish. 

When he saw that Ozzie was baring her teeth at the pitiful Madam, he almost used the skill card on Ozzie! Good thing that Olivia was here to stop him. When he thought of how the 'soul' inside Madam's body belonged to the black witch, indignation rose in his heart and he could not help but get angry. "It's all her fault! If not because of her, then the tragedy in the Knox Family wouldn't have happened!"

They glanced at each other and nodded. "We should stop her now."

Olivia activated her skill card 'Holy Armor' — the one she had used on the first night to repel the black witch's  spell — to protect the battered Ozzie. As a result, Maureen's attack could only bounce back due to the pure energy that was enveloping Ozzie. 

After that, Ji Yan followed up by using his control skill card 'Golden Canary' to trap Maureen inside! This skill card was very powerful. No matter how strong the opponent was, their power would be automatically disabled, rendering them weak and defenseless. 

Maureen was just one step away from activating her ultimate attack to defeat this insolent cat spirit and all of a sudden, she found herself trapped in a gigantic cage and lost her power! Furious, she let out a hysterical scream so loud that it almost broke the ceiling! 

Unfortunately, no matter how hard she kicked and struggled around, she could not free herself. The skill card could only be used once in this quest and lasted for three hours, hence she could only let herself being led away by Ji Yan, Olivia and Ozzie into the next room — the abandoned cathedral.

Imagine how shocked they were to see their powerful, cold and badass teammate being one-sidedly beaten up by Baines, not only that he also took the initiative to protect Baines at her current condition! What if Irene had also fallen for the black witch's trap and the one inside her body was not Irene at all?! 

This quest was completely confusing because of the soul swapping ritual! Ailín, the one they thought was their teammate, turned out to be a mannequin; and the vengeful ghost in the bathroom, whom they assumed was the villain, was actually the real Madam Knox all along!

Black and white were completely mixed up. It was no wonder that Olivia was suspicious whether Lu Yizhou was still the real Lu Yizhou. At this point, they still had not realized the existence of the man chained in midair.

Lu Yizhou, who was the recipient of Ji Yan and Olivia's wary gazes, could only grit his teeth. "You aren't allowed to kill him," he asserted firmly. If he could, he also wanted to skin Baines and cut off his fingers one by one. Protecting him was the last thing Lu Yizhou wanted to do but he had no choice! If Baines died, then his lover would also die!

"But why?!" Ji Yan cried out, frustrated. "Look, we have brought the black witch to you. You can get your treasure back from her!"

Inside the cage, Maureen was livid as she tried to break free using brute force. "You're going to pay for this!" Her sharp gaze found Baines who was enjoying the show behind Lu Yizhou. "What are you doing there, you useless servant?! You should kill all of them and free me!"

Ji Yan and Olivia were instantly alert and prepared their weapon skill cards whereas Lu Yizhou was adamant on protecting Baines with his own body. 

For a while, the two sides were locked in a stalemate. 

"What are you doing, Irene?!" Olivia stomped her feet in frustration, hating that iron could not become steel. "Get away from him and we can clear this quest!"

"Over my dead body," Lu Yizhou spat out vehemently.

"Pfft…" A laugh escaped Baines' lips and in the next moment, he threw his head back and burst out into a hearty laughter. "Hahahaha! Excellent! This is the moment I have been waiting for!" He deliberately stepped aside and opened his arms wide. "Come. Kill me and you can get out of here alive."

Veins popped up in Lu Yizhou's forehead, livid. Baines was doing it on purpose! If Ji Yan and Olivia attacked, then Lu Yizhou had no choice but to protect Baines with his own life. These three people — one was connected with his lover, while the other two were protagonists — were people Lu Yizhou could not afford to kill at all! 

This was truly the moment Baines had been waiting for. He had dug this deep pit for Lu Yizhou and waited until now for him to jump in and this time, Lu Yizhou was totally fucked!

Ji Yan and Olivia exchange a look at each other, seemingly coming to a decision. Then they faced Lu Yizhou with a solemn look. "I have no idea why you're protecting him but I'm sorry, Irene, he has to die." Ji Yan and Olivia activated their offensive skill card. One was holding a bow and arrow while the other held a flute to his lips. Both were long-distance weapons and with Ji Yan's heaven-defying luck, there was no doubt that he would be able to hit Baines square on!

Lu Yizhou's pupils shrunk. His body started to move. "No—"
