8.84 Little Fierce Beast*
Lu Yizhou winced lightly, otherwise he stayed still and allowed the other to do whatever he wanted. Ellen was not courteous either. He took the advantage to pull away slightly before biting down again, harder this time. Lu Yizhou could not help but stiffen from the sharp pain. 0
Did he have shark teeth or something? Lu Yizhou thought, amused. Why did they seem so sharp and deadly?
While Ellen was busy licking over the fresh wound and lapping on the oozing blood, Lu Yizhou continued to undo all of the man's buttons and slipped the shirt off his body. His smooth, fair and slender upper body was exposed under the golden light of the bathroom.
From Lu Yizhou's height, he could just see Ellen's elegant collarbone, his light pink nipples that perked up by the caress of cold air, as well as the faint edges of his abs and mermaid lines. Every single inch of him seemed to have been sculpted to perfection. Out of nowhere, Lu Yizhou recalled Ellen's photoshoot back there. Every move of his was oozing with regal elegance befitting of a royalty. Yet at this moment, he looked… unrestrained, kinda wild yet lazy at the same time.
Right, just like a wilful young master whose unreasonable demands had to be fulfilled.
When Ellen pulled back, his lips became a tad redder, coated with the stain of Lu Yizhou's blood on the corner. Lu Yizhou wiped it away with his thumb and lifted his head to see Ellen's masterpiece in the mirror in front of him.
"What do you think?" Ellen asked with a leisurely tone.
"Hmm…" Lu Yizhou tugged his collar down to see it better. Now he knew why Ellen had bitten him twice. Only then would he be able to create a perfect circle with neat little teeth marks. Each hole was quite deep and still seeping out blood. Honestly, it was quite grotesque, the striking color between his pale skin and the crimson mark was plainly terrifying. If Lu Yizhou did not know better, he would have thought that he had been mauled by a little fierce beast.
The corner of his lips curled up. "Perfect." He bent down to drop a kiss on the tip of Ellen's nose. "I like it very much."
Apparently, it was not the reaction Ellen was waiting for. He merely raised a brow and waited.
Lu Yizhou blinked and turned his brain for an answer. What more should he say? He scrutinized the mark deeper, trying to guess if it held some kind of deeper meaning. It was not long before realization dawned on him.
"Ah," he softly exclaimed. "The forbidden magic's mark." The place where Ellen bit him was right where Lu Yizhou had carved the ritual array on. He looked down at Ellen, distressed that he was still hung up about that.
"Once you've touched the forbidden magic, it will leave a mark on your body like a dark stain that can't be erased." Ellen's eyes were slightly in daze as he caressed the teeth mark on Lu Yizhou's chest. "Originally, I brought you here so that we can get as far as we can from the very source of the magic. However, it's truly impossible to cut the connection. I was going to find a way to break it off but…" Ellen trailed off and pursed his lips in contemplation.
"So you're saying that… the mark should have still been on my body?" Lu Yizhou's brows knitted in confusion. "But it's not there anymore."
"Exactly." Ellen's gaze deepened with something incomprehensible. He then peered up at Lu Yizhou through his dense lashes, intrigued. "How can the mark disappear just like that? I really can't fathom it no matter how I think about it…"
Truth to be told, Lu Yizhou would rather not talk about the previous quest ever again. Not to mention the level of suspense and tension he had to go through for more than forty hours, he had also been tricked by the bug Baines and cornered so badly that he had to give up his life in exchange for it. Certainly, for Lu Yizhou who had always planned his next ten steps ahead, this was a great blow to his pride.
The more Lu Yizhou thought about it, the uglier his expression became. "Is there anyone else?"
Ellen was caught off guard by his sudden question. "What?"
"Someone like Baines. Someone who…" Lu Yizhou made a noise of frustration. "...who's clearly weaker than you but can clearly grasp your weakness and turn it into their trump card. Is there anyone like that by your side here?"
Ellen appeared deep in thought. Amidst the prolonged silence, Lu Yizhou began to boil in anger. Fool him once, shame on him. But there was no way Lu Yizhou would let the bug fool him twice! No matter what, he had to get rid of them before they could deal his lover any—
"Pfft–ehem!" Ellen elegantly covered his mouth and let out a cough.
Every savage thought in Lu Yizhou's mind ground to a halt as he stared at his lover, speechless. Did he just laugh…? He did, didn't he? He clearly pretended to cough to cover the fact that he had just laughed! How could he…
Alas, before Lu Yizhou could react, Ellen had lowered his hand. No trace of a smile could be seen on his face as he stated seriously, "There is no such person here. Do you think I will let them toy with me again? Speaking of that…" He trailed his fingers along the tense line of Lu Yizhou's jaw. Even though his face was devoid of smiles, the same could not be applied to his eyes. He appeared to enjoy Lu Yizhou's reaction a little too much. "It's rare to see you so agitated. Do you know how you look when you're angry?"
Apparently, Ellen needed no answer either way because he added, "It makes me want to bite you again."
Lu Yizhou: "..." From the start, Ellen did not take him seriously, did he?
Without saying anything in response, Lu Yizhou directly reached out to unbuckle Ellen's belt, earning him a scandalous gasp. "Eh, what do you want to do?" Ellen grabbed his wrist in an attempt to stop his roguish move but Lu Yizhou had seen through him. He was playing coy again.
Lu Yizhou put on a deadpan look as he swatted Ellen's paws away. Nevertheless, his movement remained gentle and careful as he peeled Ellen's pants together with his boxer briefs before throwing it haphazardly behind him. "I am putting on this angry look you like so much. Are you happy now?"
Ellen blinked at him innocently. "What are you—"
Lu Yizhou simply did not wait for him to finish his sentence. He wanted to distract Ellen from any unimportant thoughts about the previous quest. He had suffered so much there before Lu Yizhou's arrival and even then, there was not much Lu Yizhou could do for him. Wasn't it good that they had made it out of that hellish place? Why should they revisit painful memories if there was not enough time to create many happy ones?
Aside from that selfish reason, he keenly saw pinpricks of goosebumps forming on Ellen's arm. Even though he was powerful, Lu Yizhou still couldn't bear to let him get cold.
His eyes never strayed to inappropriate places as he once again scooped Ellen into his arms and carefully brought him into the tub.
Ellen sank almost immediately once Lu Yizhou lowered him to the water, a blissful look settled on his features. The water emitted a faint sweet scent of roses. The crimson petals clung to Ellen's milky white skin that glistened under the light, the two colors painting such a striking contrast that it evoked a desirous feeling within Lu Yizhou. His long hair floated around him in waves, making him look like a gorgeous, beautiful merman who could hook people's soul just with a glance…
No, snap yourself together, Lu Yizhou! This is not the time so get your mind out of the gutter!
"Don't think about it too much." Lu Yizhou forced himself to say before he could forget everything in the face of his lover's deadly charm. "The most important thing is that we're finally together at long last, no?"
Ellen did not deign to answer. He merely tipped his head back to the wall, vapor clinging to his lashes and making them darker than usual. His golden eyes were the color of sunset at the height of their allure, so deep and intense that it made Lu Yizhou's heart skip a beat. Every inch of his body exuded graceful laziness like a cat who was basking under the sunbeam.
He lifted one fair arm, droplets of water cascading down his luminous skin, and then hooked his forefinger in Lu Yizhou's direction. "C'mere..." His voice, ever the bewitching and his eyes, compelling.
That was all Lu Yizhou needed to hear as he began to move.
