8.99 Two Questions*

A series of knocks landed on the door and Sister Chen popped her head in. Her gaze was wary when it landed on Lu Yizhou and Ellen, scrutinizing the close distance between them. However, upon confirming that both of their clothes was still intact and there was not a trace of impropriety, she let out a sigh of relief.  1

"This session's photoshoot will be delayed until 3 pm," she informed Ellen.

Brief surprise flashed in Ellen's eyes and then he snuck a glance at Lu Yizhou, who merely raised his brow in response. "Delayed? Photographer Song is not the kind of man who will go back on his words. Did something happen?"

Lu Yizhou already had a hunch that something would happen in the near future and his guess was proven in the next moment when Sister Chen said, "There has been a special situation. Everyone is asked to gather in the VIP dining hall by the captain of the cruise ship." 

Finally, the time had come. This must be the period where the guests would cast werewolves out. Lu Yizhou recalled the captain of the cruise ship he had seen yesterday, Captain Rong. He had the aura of a leader and his position made it easy for him to gather everyone. Those who did not attend would be deemed suspicious and entered the guests' radar. It was a very good setting.

"Oh." Ellen nodded impassively. "I have something to talk about with Lu Yizhou. We will catch up with you later."

Sister Chen gave him a dubious look. "Is ten minutes enough?"

Ellen rolled his eyes especially hard to emphasize his disdain. "Don't worry, this dressing room is too narrow for us to do anything you think of."

Sister Chen's eyes widened. "T–Then, if the room is big enough—" Her sentence was cut off because Ellen had already pushed her out and forcibly closed the door. The dressing room was not soundproofed and hence they could hear Sister Chen yelling from behind the door. "Don't come up with anything funny, do you hear me?! Ten minutes! If I don't see you there, then I will come back to drag you out!"

Both of them stayed silent until Sister Chen's footsteps drew further away. 

It was not an appropriate time to joke but Lu Yizhou could not help but tease his lover. The corner of his lips ticked upward into a faint smirk. "It's a pity that the dressing room is not big enough… hmm?"

Ellen harrumphed and sent him a look that said 'are you serious right now?'. Not even bothering to respond, he walked to the mirror and started to take off his bracelets and earrings. When Lu Yizhou saw it, he immediately went to take over the task. He swatted Ellen's paw away before helping him to take off the rest of the bracelets, diamond cuffs, and the hoop earrings on the pointed ear.

For a while, nobody talked. Lu Yizhou was focused on removing the accessories from Ellen's body while Ellen's gaze was fixed on his face, so intense that it almost burned a hole through his skin. They were standing so close that both of them could sense the breath that the other exhaled. Lu Yizhou's eyes shifted to Ellen's pointed ears and he could not help but rub them again. It looked so good on him. Ellen was already beautiful to begin with and with this kind of make-up, he simply looked ethereal, so out of his world… just like a real prince whom everyone should worship.

Ellen's lips moved. "...Stop doing that."

Lu Yizhou raised his eyes to Ellen's face. "Doing what?"

"You…" Ellen cleared his throat. "Whatever you're doing right now." He then retreated to add some distance between them. Standing too close with Lu Yizhou was not good for his mind. He really had serious business to talk about, there was no time to be distracted by how perfect his lips were! Ellen crossed his arms and put on a solemn look. "Do you know what I want to talk about?"

Lu Yizhou was mildly amused at Ellen's act. That appearance of his was so adorable, like a little leopard who pretended to put on a dignified crown which was too big for his little head. But Lu Yizhou still indulged him and seriously pondered on the question. He nodded. "I have a guess in mind."

Ellen gestured for him to go ahead so Lu Yizhou did not beat around the bush. "You should know about the so-called 'quest' and 'players', am I right?" Ellen merely stared at him without batting an eyelid and in that instant, Lu Yizhou got his answer. He let out a sigh and continued saying, "Previously, the quest was related to the Knox Family. The final boss of that quest was Master Knox whereas you…" Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes and dug around his brain for the suitable words. "You were not actually linked to the quest. Playing Ella's favorite song was only a side quest, and the other players did not even realize Ellie and your existence. However, the stability of that world depends on you."

Ellen's eyes flashed with an indecipherable light. He did not agree with Lu Yizhou's words but he did not rebuke it either. He pursed his lips tight, seemingly hesitating whether he should say the truth or not. 

Lu Yizhou watched as turmoil brewed in his golden eyes. He did not press for an answer; he chose to put the choices in Ellen's hands and whatever he decided in the end, Lu Yizhou would accept. Even if Ellen were to hide the truth forever, Lu Yizhou would still support him because he was sure that Ellen would have a reason for doing so. 

In the end, Ellen's shoulders sagged as he finally came to a decision. He hung his head low and his hair fell to cover his face, rendering Lu Yizhou unable to discern his expression clearly. "...I am born from Ella and Ellie's fear, anxiety and insecurity. I think I have told you this before. That place is not good for them and I… I selfishly wish to create a peaceful world for the three of us. A place where no one can threaten our safety."

Lu Yizhou's mind abruptly flew to the last entry of Ella's diary — "It's okay, my dear. I am going to create a world where it will be safe for us. Everyone in this world can betray you, but I will stay by your side, always. So please… don't be afraid any longer." The last line was signed simply with one letter 'E'. At first Lu Yizhou thought that it was Ellie who had written it, but after meeting Ellen, he suspected the man instead. It was not until now that his doubt was proven.

However… to create a new world? 

Lu Yizhou was stunned the more he pondered on it. Exactly how much power did it take to achieve that? Even when he was the God Regius, such a feat was absolutely unthinkable!

Amidst his churning thoughts, Ellen suddenly lifted his head to look at him. Lu Yizhou startled, he had never seen such a haunting look on Ellen's face before. The man spoke as though sensing his doubt. "I have the power to do it, if that's what you want to ask. As soon as I confirmed it, I started to experiment. However, I didn't expect that in the end, I would be trapped by Baines and…" Fury flashed through his eyes and his slender figure trembled ever so slightly. 

Lu Yizhou wished he could cross the room in a split second to hug him but he firmly held himself back. "So…" His voice carried a trace of hoarseness as he double-checked the facts he had just heard. "You're the one who created all of these instances. But because of Baines, your plans went haywire and you gradually lost control of your power."

Ellen's lashes quivered but in the end, he merely gave a soft, "Mn."

Lu Yizhou couldn't help but suck in a breath. He had known that Ellen was powerful but not this powerful. The ability it took to create tens or hundreds of worlds could not be trifled with. Lu Yizhou looked at Ellen's slender body and found it hard to believe that a terrifying amount of power was laying dormant inside. After a stretch of silence, he asked tentatively. "...May I ask two questions?"

Ellen let out a wry chuckle. "I have exposed this much to you so what do I have to hide anymore?" Even though he said that, the way he tightly gripped his arms like he was trying to shrink smaller did not conform to his words. He looked like someone who was waiting for a death verdict instead.

"First…" Lu Yizhou stared at him deeply. "How is your condition now? Are you okay?" Ellen's eyes snapped to him in shock, clearly not expecting that question but Lu Yizhou did not give him any time to react as he continued with the second question, "You said you wanted to create a new world for Ella and Ellie… How about now? Do you still wish to do that?"
