8.107 Don't Believe Me?

Heavy silence descended as Ellen pinned Cyrus with a grave stare, his expression was so terrifying that one would have thought that he was silently plotting on how to murder this person. But Cyrus stood his ground, his smile did not change as he waited patiently for Ellen's answer. Alas, he was doomed not to obtain it.1

Ellen turned to face Lu Yizhou and said seriously, "I don't want to say it in front of them. Why should I tell something like that to people whom I don't even trust a bit?"

A few guesses flashed in Lu Yizhou's mind as he carefully looked at Ellen's expressionless face. In front of him, Ellen had always been animated. He might look cold and haughty, but he was someone who wore his heart on his sleeves. He would get angry, scream, act spoiled and laugh. This kind of Ellen… It reminded Lu Yizhou of the time when they had just met yesterday. Ellen was hiding something, it was obvious to see. He said he would not tell Cyrus and Luan so… what about Lu Yizhou? Would Ellen tell him? 

The question filled Lu Yizhou's heart but outwardly, he said in a light tone. "Sure, it's your choice."

Cyrus nodded easily and did not chase after the matter either. They temporarily let go of the topic about Ellen's role. 

Lu Yizhou was reminded of another important point. "The girl who provided evidence earlier… is it the seer's power?" He asked Luan because he would be the one who knew best. 

Luan's brows slowly knitted as he glanced at the man beside him.

It was Cyrus who answered. "No. It's not the seer's power. The seer can only know the identity of the players, not to provide evidence that can condemn the werewolves otherwise the game would be truly unfair to one side." 

Lu Yizhou nodded. He had expected that answer. "So that must be her own ability." To be able to obtain such solid evidence without anyone noticing was already very frightening. Lu Yizhou was right to think that the girl should not be underestimated. Last night, he had walked around the area where the two eliminated werewolves performed the deed but never had he realized that anyone was sneaking around. Lu Yizhou tapped his fingers on his thigh and asked, "So is she a seer?"

Cyrus and Luan glanced at each other before Cyrus said, "Luan will look into it tonight." Lu Yizhou had gotten used to their extreme tacit understanding and the skill to converse with eyes so he did not bat an eyelid. Cyrus continued, "This is a fifty-fifty possibility. If she is the seer, then she will not have to be afraid of being killed by werewolves. The only ones she has to take note of are… the players who have the guest's role."

Lu Yizhou agreed. The rule stipulated that werewolves were not allowed to kill the seer because they were a neutral party but it did not say anything about the guests. After today, the guest players would realize how dangerous the girl's existence was and actively sought to get rid of her.

After all, skillful players were not only in the werewolves camp, but they were also scattered in the guests camp.

"Then her teammates must be powerful," Lu Yizhou speculated.

"Yes, that's also what I have been thinking about. That's why when Cyrus was following the ship crews, I was trailing after the girl. I've got her room number and I estimated she has at least three teammates so I didn't dare to get too close. It's not good to alert them early."

Lu Yizhou was convinced of Cyrus' skill and that's why he was taken aback. "At least three? That's too many. Are they all werewolves?" 

He did not actually have a clear idea on how this world worked. However, he knew that the roles generated by the world should be completely random. If the girl entered the quest as a team (if that was feasible), then the possibility that all of her teammates were werewolves were too low. But if her teammates were all temporary, what reason did she have to join the werewolves camp? Unless… was she threatened? No, Lu Yizhou immediately abandoned this idea. Seers were protected by the quest and werewolves were not allowed to kill them. 

In one glance, seers seemed to be the best role because they were protected by the rules as the 'neutral party'. However, the restriction on them was actually the worst. They could only peek at someone's roles and also, they had to choose the camp which they assumed would have the greatest chance to win. After that, they would fall into a passive state and their fates were up to another. It was a very frustrating role.

Cyrus shook his head. "That's not certain yet. But judging from how she stood by the werewolf camp, all of her teammates should be werewolves."

Lu Yizhou was deep in thought, trying to guess the young girl's mentality but then, he suddenly recalled who was sitting beside him right now. He was stunned. That's right… Why did he have to think so hard when the creator of this world was here? He only needed to ask Ellen! Lu Yizhou almost slapped his forehead for neglecting this fact. He turned to Ellen and asked in a barely concealed eagerness. "Do you know?"

Ellen was surprised by that question which came out of nowhere. "Know what?"

Ever since Cyrus' question about his role, he had been so quiet like he was obediently listening to the discussion but Lu Yizhou knew that he had been lost in thoughts. He inwardly noted to talk about this clearly with Ellen later.

"How this world works. Aren't you…" the one who created it? Lu Yizhou deliberately cut himself off. Cyrus and Luan only knew that the world's core energy was linked to Ellen, but they still had no idea that Ellen was the master of the world. Nonetheless, they might have already guessed something from Lu Yizhou's vague question.

"I don't." Ellen answered bluntly. He glanced at Cyrus and Luan before leaning in to whisper into Lu Yizhou's ear. "Don't look at me like that. I really don't know. It's like…" he tried to search for the suitable words. "It's like planting random seeds. I don't know what kind of tree it will grow into or how tall it will be. All of them are already beyond my control. Understand?"

Lu Yizhou wanted to retort, "Isn't it because you are losing control of your power?" But then Ellen's words were quite reasonable. In the end, no one knew the truth other than him. Lu Yizhou swallowed the words he wanted to say and only hummed thoughtfully.

"What?" Ellen tilted his chin up defiantly. "You don't believe me?"
