Lu Yizhou grabbed hold of the man's head and — crack! — broke his neck in one swift movement. Even until his last breath, the man's expression was frozen in the state of disbelief and consternation, unable to guess how he had offended the devil… 

Luan let go of his grip, causing the man to fall to the ground. He raised his brow in inquiry. 

Lu Yizhou knew what he wanted to ask. His expression was cold as he said, "I won't be able to clear the game anyway. Rather than letting him escape only for him to call people here tomorrow, it's better to kill him right here and now."

He had caught the wicked glint on the man's eyes as soon as he saw him. Lu Yizhou knew this kind of person very well. He had no doubt that if the man were to escape tonight, then he would return tomorrow with a crowd of people to get revenge on Luan. Lu Yizhou opened his mouth and was reminded again of the sight of Captain Rong chewing on the girl's inner organ. He pressed his lips tight. "Let's wait for Cyrus to come back." 

Luan nodded. 

"Has Ella come out?"

Luan shook his head. 

Lu Yizhou hesitated. He wanted to enter, but he failed to take into account the fact that Ella would be sleeping. Lu Yizhou did not want to disturb her. Fortunately, he did not have to decide because in the next moment, there was the sound of footsteps approaching. Lu Yizhou's hands immediately flew to his gun. He was ready to take it out only to be blocked by Luan. The man shook his head. 

Lu Yizhou got the answer through the man's eyes and his tense shoulders relaxed.

True to Luan's signal, Cyrus appeared from the mouth of the hallway. He was pleasantly surprised to see both of them. A smile spread across his face. "Hey, sorry to keep you—" He had not finished his sentence when Luan rushed to his side and stared anxiously at the deep gash on his shoulder. Blood painted his blue shirt crimson and to be honest, it looked mildly terrifying. But it was as if the person himself did not notice as he laughed at Luan's distraught appearance. "It's okay, I met a quite skillful player just now."

Lu Yizhou was stunned. "You met a player?"

Cyrus nodded while Luan treated his wounds for him. "You should know that after we choose a room to enter, we can't go out anymore unless the person inside is dead or… we're dead. Either way, only one of us can go out alive. There's no problem if you meet a guest NPC because they will definitely be asleep. But if your luck is bad, then you will meet a player like me." He laughed again as if recalling something amusing. "The guest player will not be asleep but they can't go out of the room. I was caught off guard when he ambushed me but don't worry," he patted Luan's arm gently. "This little wound is nothing."

Luan still looked upset no matter how hard Cyrus tried to reassure him. In the end, he could only heave out a helpless sigh. 

"Thank you," Lu Yizhou said. "I will keep it in mind." It turned out he was lucky because he encountered a guest NPC yesterday but as for today… Lu Yizhou shut himself up as he did not want to set a flag. He had had too much experience in being a jinx. 

"I see that you have been busy too." Cyrus glanced at the corpse on the ground. "It seems like our previous conjecture is right, Luan. The dead player's body will disappear by itself."

Lu Yizhou turned around to see a shimmer of glow enveloping the corpse's body. One moment he was still lying lifelessly on the ground and the next moment, he vanished without a trace, leaving only a few pieces of cards fluttering down gently. 

"...not only that, they will also leave behind their skill cards," Cyrus finished. 

Lu Yizhou was not interested in skill cards. After all, he relied more on his body as a weapon. His silver gun and assault rifle he got from Diana was more than enough. Cyrus agreed to keep the skill cards for the time being. 

Next, Lu Yizhou spoke succinctly about what he had encountered back in the engine room. 

Cyrus and Luan were stunned. "Captain Rong?" Apparently, they also did not foresee that Captain Rong would turn into a literal werewolf at night, let alone eating the eliminated players. Lu Yizhou knitted his brows and decided to cross the bridge when he came to it. Moreover, he had always kept a low presence so there was a very low probability that he would be eliminated by the voting session…

…or so he thought.
