Sensing his conviction, 666 no longer hesitated and gave him concise instruction to the second Captain Rong. Behind him, the first Captain Rong was keeping a steady distance, presumably playing a game of chase with this prey whom he thought would be a dead meat. It gave Lu Yizhou a huge advantage to gather the two beasts together.  0

As the saying went, no tigers could exist peacefully in the same mountain. The same applied to the two Captain Rong. With only one prey in front of them, which one would be the winner?

It did not take long for Lu Yizhou to find the second Captain Rong. He was currently feasting on the woman — still alive and twitching — with ravenous sounds coming out of his throat. The different scent of blood immediately attracted his attention. He lifted his head, sniffed the air and instantly locked in on Lu Yizhou's figure who was running straight toward him!

A prey was sending himself to him, how could he refuse?

The second Captain Rong abandoned the dying woman without a second thought and stood up to meet Lu Yizhou head on. A growl of greediness tore out of his throat. With blood splattered all over his front, he painted a gruesome and terrifying image that could cause nightmares for weeks.

[666: A–A–AHH, 666 CAN'T BEAR TO LOOK!!!]

Lu Yizhou rolled his eyes and did not point out how the system had its screen mosaicked. It could not even see if it wanted to, so what was it screaming for? 

At the moment between life and death, Lu Yizhou's heartbeat calmed and his vision sharpened to the extreme. All the pain was forgotten in lieu of completing the mission. In front of him was a bloody beast and behind him, another beast was waiting to pounce on him. When he was less than two meters away from the second Captain Rong, Lu Yizhou pushed his feet against the ground and jumped to the side.

Without him in between, the two Captain Rong crashed against each other due to the unstoppable momentum!

Enraged, both of them tore at each other, inflicting a bloody gash in the other's body before remembering the prey that had gotten away. Alas, they were shocked to find that instead of escaping, Lu Yizhou was standing on the sidelines and waiting. When he saw that the two beasts' eyes were on him, Lu Yizhou started his trick again. He flashed himself in front of one beast before escaping to the direction of the other. Like this, everytime the first Captain Rong wanted to catch him, he would always be hindered by the second Captain Rong.

Lu Yizhou took advantage of his speed and smaller stature to dance on the hilt of death's blade, spinning around and around to make the two beasts confused. As he expected, the two beasts' intelligence had been reduced in lieu of fighting prowess and when they met another who hindered them from eating, then they would resort to violent acts! 

Gradually, the two Captain Rongs fought and tore against each other, giving Lu Yizhou an opportunity to slip away.

[666: It… works?]

Lu Yizhou let out a scoff at that rhetorical question. He did not hide far. The most dangerous place was also the safest place and hence, he crouched down near the dying figure of the woman and observed the two fighting beasts. 

[666: Holy shit, it really works! Host is too 666!]

[Thank you for the suggestion.] Lu Yizhou was not stingy with the praise. If not because of 666's timely interjection, he would probably have been reduced into a broken corpse. Lu Yizhou decisively took off his shirt and tied it tightly around his abdomen, gritting his teeth to bear the pain as he did so. At least he could prevent his blood from spilling to the floor this way.

And then, he waited.

Sixteen minutes…

Nine minutes…

For the last three minutes, the two beasts finally band together to chase after him and Lu Yizhou lost another chunk of flesh on his back. Perhaps 666 was right. His life force was really so huge because at that critical moment, a burst of unwillingness surged through his chest. He did not want to die here, he did not want to be eaten by these two beasts and more importantly, he could not imagine how Ellen would react if he were to die for a second time…

He did not want to die!

Lu Yizhou bore through the blood loss, the suffocating pain on his body, and the blur in his vision. There was only one thought in his mind: run, keep running!

[[Two seconds…]]

[[One second… Time's up!]]

The two beasts disappeared behind him. At the same time, Lu Yizhou missed a step and stumbled to the ground on his knees, panting. His condition was so miserable that he was not any better than the eaten players. But at least, he succeeded… He was still alive! He won this goddamn game!

Inside his mind, 666 burst out into cheers and blew out numerous trumpets, crying and laughing at the same time. It was so noisy that Lu Yizhou's temples throbbed.

Instead of being angry, a hoarse laugh slowly escaped his throat. "Ha…" Faint at first before it gradually morphed into a full body guffaw. "Ha...hahaha!" He laughed so hard that his chest hurt, laughed so hard that tears escaped the corner of his eyes, laughed so hard that it aggravated his wounds even more… but fortunately, his healing ability had automatically started to work to repair the broken tissues. 

[666: H–Host, are… are you okay? 666 has never seen you like this… HOST?!]

Before Lu Yizhou could say anything in response, his vision blurred on the edges and the world swayed in front of him. He had expended too much energy, never letting himself rest even for a second. He had been in a constant state of alert and caution for five full hours. Not to mention that he had to fight under severe blood loss… 

Now that everything had ended, Lu Yizhou finally registered how weak he was. All the exhaustion crashed into him as soon as he let himself relax, robbing him of whatever strength was left on his body. He could not hold onto his consciousness anymore and slumped to the ground, breathing heavily.

[666: Oh my Admin God, Host, you're burning in fever!]

[666: It's 39.2 degrees Celsius! W–What should 666 do?! Help!! QAQ]

Lost in his subconsciousness, Lu Yizhou had no idea that a few minutes after he cleared the hide-and-seek game, notifications rang out one after another.
