9.10 Strip

"W–Wait a moment!" Just as Lu Yizhou was going to take a step forward, a middle aged man in a wrinkled suit suddenly rushed out of the crowd, slammed the collapsible door closed and latched the lock, effectively trapping Lu Yizhou inside!  1

Everyone's eyes turned to him in shock. Zhao Bolin finally tore his gaze off the other and raised a brow toward the middle aged man. "Professor Lou?"

Professor Lou, who taught Biotechnology Law and also the one who hesitated to offer help earlier today, was firmly guiding the door with his body. In his fifties, his hairline was so thin that it was almost bald, looking especially shiny due to the faint sheen of sweat. "I–It's not safe! Look at him!" At the professor's cue, everyone's eyes shifted to Lu Yizhou. "He has just come from the neighboring building. Not only that, he has fought a lot of zombies. What if he's already infected by the virus? One scratch… one scratch was enough to change a person! If we let him in, then he will infect all of us!"

Everyone abruptly turned silent, their earlier excitement dampened like being doused by a bucket of cold water. What Professor Lou said made sense. Just now, they could not properly look at Lu Yizhou due to the far distance. It was not until now that they realized how ghastly his complexion was. His shirt was splattered with a lot of blood and to be honest, he did not look like someone who could go through that crowd of undead unscratched…

The students looked at each other in apprehension. They wanted to save as many people as possible but… if that could cost their lives as well…

A man with short black hair suddenly spoke, "You…" His gaze roamed all over Lu Yizhou's body in doubt. "Are you injured?"

"Li Zhu," the person beside him whispered. "Even if you ask him that, it's not like he will admit it!"

Due to Lu Yizhou's enhanced senses, he was able to hear each word loud and clear. He shifted his gaze to the man who had just spoken. So this was the protagonist of this world, Li Zhu. He was a baby-faced man with gentle brows and clear black eyes. No wonder he was the world's shou. He had the kind of soft aura like a meek animal that made anyone want to protect him.

Unfortunately… meek animals were the perfect prey for predators.

Lu Yizhou licked his gum and felt his throat run dry.

[666: H–Host, watch yourself ah! If you change in front of them, you will be finished! It will be a public execution and you won't be able to save the villain!]

[Don't worry.] He assured the anxious system. [I am holding back.]

[666: …r–really?]

"Why didn't you answer?" Another student inquired anxiously. "Are you… really injured? You're not injured right?"

Lu Yizhou had no way to speak otherwise his disguise would be seen through immediately. It was good that none of the biology students here knew Ru Jinke. Lu Yizhou lifted his hands and started to sign. [Can't speak.]

Everyone was taken aback then they glanced at each other. "What did he say?" "Can anybody understand?"

"I can." Zhao Bolin stepped forward and coincidentally or not, squeezed Professor Lou out of the way. Separated by the collapsible door, Zhao Bolin's slender fingers moved dexterously. [You really can't speak?]

Lu Yizhou was surprised for a split second before nodding. He had learned sign language since a young age but he did not expect Zhao Bolin to know it too. He could not help but smile. 

This should be the most mature version of his lover he had ever seen. Zhao Bolin was even older than Moshe by two full years. Their appearance was actually the same — beautiful face, slender body, golden eyes and long brown hair — however, Zhao Bolin's temperament was more subdued and his aloofness was further enhanced by the gold-framed glasses with silver chains hanging atop of his nose. There was a condescending feeling when Zhao Bolin's gaze landed on someone, almost as if he was looking down at them. This holier-than-thou attitude was just so… irresistible.

Perhaps Zeke was right. This experience of meeting the same person with different personalities was truly marvelous.

Lu Yizhou continued signing, [I am not injured.]

Zhao Bolin relayed the message. "He said he's not injured."

Professor Lou frowned. "How can we trust him? If I were him, I also won't admit that I am injured."

Lu Yizhou leisurely moved his hands. [Well, I don't have high body fats like you so it's easier for me to evade the zombie's touch due to the smaller surface area.]

Professor Lou was certain that this male student was up to no good. However, he could not tell anything from his expression. He had no choice but to turn to Professor Zhao. "What did he just say?" 

Professor Lou was actually quite dissatisfied with the current situation. Based on age, he was the most senior person so everyone should have listened to him more. Alas, just his luck to be trapped here with the freaking Zhao Bolin. Not to mention that the laboratory was his turf, he also had sustained enough food stock in his office, causing the students to side with Zhao Bolin more often than not. Even Professor Lou had to give way for him.

The corner of Zhao Bolin's lips twitched and he coughed lightly. "This student insists that he's not injured. If it's necessary, he will cooperate and let us check his body."

Lu Yizhou raised his brow, amused. He did not seem to have said something like that…?

The students started to talk among themselves. The target eventually landed on the eight male students. "Who wants to check him?"

"I… I don't want to. What if he's already infected like Professor Lou said? Won't I be bitten by him this way?"

"Ugh, snap out of it! The transformation time is less than five minutes, okay? How many minutes have we been standing here? He still doesn't show any signs of mutation. There's a huge chance he has not been infected yet."

"Then why don't you go?"

"You…!"

The male students pushed each other, yet none wanted to step up to the task. Zhao Bolin had seen it coming and hence, he cut them off decisively. "Don't fret. I will do it."

"Professor!" The female students protested.

Since when could anybody change Zhao Bolin's decision? Once he had made up his mind, he would not budge even when the sky collapsed. He waved his hand in dismissal. "It's fine. I will be bringing him into my own laboratory. In case I am bitten, then you guys can directly lock us up inside eh?" It was unknown whether Zhao Bolin's last words were sarcasm or not because of the genial smile on his face. 

However, Professor Lou still had an ugly look on his face. Openly disregarding everyone's opinion and even going against Professor Lou's words, did he think that the whole world revolved around him?!

Zhao Bolin opened the collapsible door and beckoned for Lu Yizhou to follow him. Professor Lou's glower followed him even after he had turned his back. But then, he suddenly felt chills running down his spine. Shocked, he looked up to see the male student staring at him with a pair of frosty silver eyes, so ferocious it was like looking into the cave of abyss... Professor Lou shuddered and swiftly averted his gaze away.

Lu Yizhou let out a faint snort and trailed after Zhao Bolin with his hands inside his pocket. It was no good for him to look at those humans for long, especially Professor Lou who was so fleshy that he could imagine how juicy his body would be. Lu Yizhou hastily shook the thought out of his mind and entered the laboratory after Zhao Bolin.

Sunlight filtered in through the gaps between curtain binds, drowning the room in lights and shadows.

Lu Yizhou had not even had the chance to examine his lover's so-called 'nest' when Zhao Bolin leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and demanded coldly, "Strip."
