9.35 Am I Cruel?

Lu Yizhou stared at the person in front of him whose smile was so brilliant yet deadly at the same time. He was positively amused. At this moment, Zhao Bolin really reminded him of Moshe; the more intense their emotion was, the better their self-control.  0

Angel of Death, the nickname actually suited him very much. Moshe wielded his gun, smiling as corpses fell one after another under his feet. The same thing also applied to Zhao Bolin. Inside his mind… he must be thinking of 1001 ways to make Yang Tengfei's life worse than death.

He grasped Zhao Bolin's hand tighter, fiddling with his soft slender fingers until the end, their ten fingers were interlocked together. Zhao Bolin let out a long exhale and tension slowly bled from his shoulders. Quietly, he scooted forward and leaned his forehead against Lu Yizhou's shoulder, his eyelids falling shut. Lu Yizhou leaned against the wall and loosely wrapped his arm around Zhao Bolin's waist, relishing on the rare intimacy Professor Zhao offered. Who knew when this person would turn around and stab him with a tranquilizer again?

"Do you know why I hate them very much?" Zhao Bolin asked in a quiet voice. His soft breath fanned the skin on Lu Yizhou's neck. Despite having a tough skin, that soft breathing was akin to a kitten's paw grazing the corner of his heart, very ticklish and unbearable. Still, Lu Yizhou held himself still and let Professor Zhao vent his pent-up anger. Zhao Bolin didn't seem like he needed an answer because he continued saying, "They're all a bunch of arrogant, snobbish and hypocritical people. If they need something, then they will treat you like a king but once you become useless, then they will throw you to a ditch."

"I know the world still has a lot of kind people but… as long as I imagine that the higher-ups are filled with people like that, I start to doubt myself. Why should I save them? In the end, they're going to be corrupt politicians anyway. Why not take advantage of the virus to get rid of them once and for all?" He pulled away to stare into Lu Yizhou's eyes. "Do you think I am cruel?"

The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips ticked coldly. [I am even crueler than that.]

At least, Zhao Bolin was still thinking of saving ordinary people but what about him? As soon as something went wrong, then he would lead the zombies to stage a riot. Innocent citizens, old or young, male or female, he did not care about them in the slightest. Lu Yizhou was very selfish. In this world, he was only thinking of saving Zhao Bolin and no one else. His heart was not vast enough to contain everyone.

It was unknown what was in Zhao Bolin's mind as he let out a delightful laugh. He reached out to pinch Lu Yizhou's cheek. "Have you always been like this or is it the effect brought by the virus?"

Lu Yizhou did not deign to answer that question. He told Zhao Bolin, [No matter what you plan to do, I will support you.]

Zhao Bolin blinked, seemingly not expecting such a bold declaration. His eyes curved into crescents and his tone contained a hint of teasing. "Wow… To have a zombie say something like that to me, what a marvelous feeling. Do you even have an idea what I plan to do? What if I say that I want to annihilate them?" He tried to put it lightly, but Lu Yizhou could perceive the coldness in his golden eyes. Professor Zhao was a man of his words. Once he said he would do something, then he definitely would.

Lu Yizhou gave him a slight, reassuring smile.

Who knew that Zhao Bolin would suddenly cover his own face and distance himself a few meters away? "Ugh, don't suddenly give me such a beautiful smile! How do you expect me to react?!" Professor Zhao harrumphed with blush tinted his cheeks. He then fished out a notebook from his pocket. It was awfully familiar, was it not the notebook he had used to record Lu Yizhou's reaction yesterday? Seeing it, Lu Yizhou was reminded of the electric chair and his scalp turned numb.

Professor Zhao was wholly unaware of the turmoil in Lu Yizhou's mind and beckoned to him happily, "Come, it's time to do your job as my assistant. The first formula I want to create…" He tapped on his chin, golden eyes sparkling in excitement. His gaze brushed over Lu Yizhou's body down to his crotch and a strange smile spread across his face. If Lu Yizhou had to describe it, then it looked completely perverted. "...is an antibody so that human cells can contend against zombie's."

"Three months?" Professor Zhao sneered coldly. "I can do it in one and a half months."

Lu Yizhou raised a brow. Zhao Bolin's tone was very confident as though the task was only a breeze for him. Yet in the original plot, he had failed to create a vaccine even after half a year. However, through experience, Lu Yizhou had learned not to take the plot at face value because sometimes, it would be misleading.

Could it be… the subsequent event in the original plot after Zhao Bolin's death, was it all within his calculation? Was the experiment really a failure or… had he created a new version of the virus which would wipe out humanity in the end?

Giving them a ray of hope and when they thought victory was within grasp, proceeded to throw them into the pit of despair. Revenge would be sweeter this way.

—That kind of style truly aligned with his lover.

Suddenly glimpsed upon the truth, Lu Yizhou only felt helpless. For everyone in this world, Zhao Bolin might be the ultimate villain in Lu Yizhou's eyes, he was very daring, stubborn and adorable to boot.

At Zhao Bolin's instruction, Lu Yizhou donated a bit of his blood again to aid with the experiment. But who could guess that as soon as he saw the crimson liquid, his stomach would growl very loudly?

Zhao Bolin lifted his head in surprise. "Ah… I forgot to feed you. My bad."

The corner of Lu Yizhou's lips twitched. His gaze could not help but land on Zhao Bolin's fair and slender neck and he swallowed audibly. [How do you want to feed me?]

Zhao Bolin nervously tugged his collar higher and brandished his syringe. "I won't let you eat my flesh!" Swiftly, he dashed to the corner of the room, grabbed a small cage and shoved it into Lu Yizhou's arms. "Here, eat this instead." Then he stood there and gestured at Lu Yizhou with his eyes shining in excitement. No doubt, this was another precious observation.

Lu Yizhou glanced at Xiao Tun number 2 who was running wildly inside the cage and sank into deep contemplation. Just a few days ago, he was still trapped in the engine room of the shitty cruise ship, facing the monstrous Captain Rong who liked to eat raw flesh. He recalled how nauseous and disgusted he was when he saw Captain Rong eating a woman's organ. He had even been relieved because when he was still a vampire, he only needed a few drops of blood to sate his hunger and he could easily get it from his lover. At least, he would not be reduced to such a vulgar creature.

Unexpectedly, it was his turn to feed on living beings now.

Was this… karma?
