As it turned out, Lu Yizhou's straightforward attack was only a feign. At the last moment, he tilted his head to avoid the bullet, spun his body midair and pushed his legs against the nearest tree branch before launching up again. His real target was — the helicopter's tail!  2

The helicopter had given Yang Tengfei a height advantage and the ability to attack in midair. It had also offered him sufficient protection against the zombies' siege. Lu Yizhou only needed to destroy the helicopter and then Yang Tengfei, Li Zhu, and anyone else inside would fall into the sea of ravenous zombies that had been waiting for them below!

Yang Tengfei was clearly caught off guard by his action. However, he reacted quickly, chased after Lu Yizhou's figure and fired a few times, successfully piercing a few more holes in the zombie's body. 

Lu Yizhou did not even bat an eyelid. These bullets were clearly nothing. Compared to the bone-deep pain he was experiencing now, it only served as a stimulus to his nerves and forced him to sober up even more. 

As he was near the target, he stretched out his hand, the tip of his fingers touching the helicopter's body… yet at that moment, the helicopter made a sharp forty five degrees tilt to the side, evading his grip! Lu Yizhou grasped onto nothing and could only let his body free fall to the ground. He landed in a crouch and bared his teeth at his enemies.

The helicopter shook unsteadily for a few seconds before it gained its balance again. Due to the sharp maneuver, Yang Tengfei almost slipped out but fortunately, he was caught in time by Li Zhu whose face was so pale it was bloodless. 

Lu Yizhou caught his terrified gaze midair and he bared his teeth at the protagonist, causing the latter to flinch and hastily hide behind Yang Tengfei. But at least, his timely help had prevented Yang Tengfei from falling accidentally to his death. 

Lu Yizhou stood up with a harrumph and narrowed his eyes. His fingers were trembling ever so slightly from the lingering aftereffect of the antidote. The wounds on his body took longer to heal and they continued to ooze blood, staining his clothes and making him look tragic. However, Lu Yizhou did not even put them in mind simply because he could not feel the pain.

He could sense his power returning but… too slow! There were still a few minutes more until the antidote in his body would wear down. Until then, Lu Yizhou could not exert his full power. 

After having fought one intense round with Lu Yizhou, how could Yang Tengfei miss it? He was not the Commander of the Special Forces for nothing. Just with that one attack, he could already perceive that something was off with the Zombie King. His offensive power seemed to have decreased since the last time they clashed with each other. He did not know the reason behind it, but… did it matter? This was a godsend opportunity! He should seize the time to kill the Zombie King when his condition was weakened!

And hence, Yang Tengfei boldly fired a few more times from the air. Most of the bullets were avoided yet some still landed on the target. The wounds on Lu Yizhou's body increased and blood flowed freely, the color was extremely striking against his pale features.

For a moment, the two sides could not get the upper hand, but the pressure on Yang Tengfei steadily increased. Everytime Lu Yizhou struck, he could feel the other party getting stronger and stronger. Beads of sweat gathered between Yang Tengfei's brows. He gritted his teeth stubbornly. He could not go on like this! The Zombie King was just stalling for time, he was waiting for his power to return!

As soon as the realization dawned on him, Yang Tengfei's aura grew ferocious. His gaze fleeted to the warehouse which Lu Yizhou came out from and coincidentally, he caught sight of the shadow of Zhao Bolin through the curtain blinds. There was no time to think. He bellowed out an order, "Pull up!"

When the helicopter rose higher into the air, Yang Tengfei threw his gun aside and grabbed a grenade. He made eye contact with Lu Yizhou who was still trying to attack the helicopter, revealed a malicious smirk, and threw the grenade straight toward the warehouse!

Lu Yizhou's pupils shrunk sharply as he saw that round, black thing flying in an arc. His heartbeat stopped at that moment and he could hear blood rushing madly through his veins. No… He could not let that grenade land, otherwise… Zhao Bolin would die! He would not allow that to happen!

Each second stretched out like a century. Lu Yizhou's eyes turned bloodshot as he executed a series of flips on the air. Stretching every fiber of muscle in his body, Lu Yizhou reached out desperately and caught the grenade in his palm! 

BOOM!

Amidst the explosion of fire, blood and flesh in midair was a heartbreaking cry, "NO—!!!!" 

The cry echoed in the air for a long time, so hysterical and heartrending that one could imagine how intense of an anguish that person was feeling.

Inside the helicopter, Yang Tengfei exhaled in excitement as the heat of the explosion blasted his face. He had succeeded! He knew it! The Zombie King and Zhao Bolin's relationship was indeed unusual! The Zombie King might be invincible, yet unfortunately, he had one very fatal weakness — his lover. As long as Yang Tengfei targeted that Achilles Heel of his, then he would be able to eliminate the Zombie King! 

However…

Yang Tengfei had not maintained his victorious smirk for more than one second when his whole person suddenly froze in disbelief.

Through the thick clouds of fumes and the smell of burnt flesh, an unrecognizable figure suddenly rushed straight toward him with an unstoppable force! Yang Tengfei's eyes flew wide in shock.

That was… Lu Yizhou?!

Rather than a person, it was sufficient to say that he resembled an uneven lump of bloody flesh. The explosion had directly blasted half of his body, and the other half was charred black. His ribs, bones and inner organs were exposed to the air. His handsome face had been destroyed and only a few pieces of bloody flesh were hanging on his bone skeleton. Nonetheless, the fighting spirit in his one intact eye had not died down yet — no, it was burning even more brilliantly!

This… Was this person insane?!

Did he use the momentum of the explosion to push his body forward?!

No — half of his brain had been blasted by the grenade. How could he still be alive?!

Yang Tengfei could not figure it out, nor did he have any chance to do it anymore. The bloody pieces of flesh that was Lu Yizhou had landed on the helicopter with a loud bang and, before anyone could react, broke the helicopter tail with one stomp of his feet!

The helicopter, which had suddenly lost its balance of gravity, tilted dangerously to the side and started to free fall. 

Li Zhu screamed as his vision spun. He squeezed his eyes shut by reflex and tightened his grip around Yang Tengfei's body to not let him fall. But the helicopter was already broken and was heading straight to the ground. A sense of weightlessness wrapped around Li Zhu and— oh God, they were thrown out of the helicopter–!!!

He was not Zhao Bolin, who had Lu Yizhou by his side. Even if Zhao Bolin fell from the rooftop of the Biology Building, he would be okay because he had Lu Yizhou to catch him. Right now, they were approximately thirty meters from the ground or in other words, it would be akin to falling from a ten-story building. If they fell, then it was certain that they would be turned into pulp!

In that decisive moment of life and death, Li Zhu gritted his teeth and forced his body to turn midair so he was the one who positioned at the bottom. He hugged Yang Tengfei tightly in his arms and welcomed death with regret. He had not told Yang Tengfei his feelings yet, but at least… he could die to protect him. Maybe Commander Yang would be alive if Li Zhu made himself into a meat shield…

Alas, never had he expected that Yang Tengfei would suddenly struggle out of his arms. Then under Li Zhu's shocked stare, his entire body exploded in power like a dying predator who would fight to its last breath. He stepped on Li Zhu's body and propelled himself upward. This one action of his was akin to accelerating Li Zhu's fall, directly pushing him into the zombies who were ready to tear his body apart.

Until the end, he did not even give Li Zhu a glance…

Instead, Yang Tengfei's mad and wild eyes were focused on Lu Yizhou.

It was like he had lost his mind. In desperation, twisted thought sprouted out uncontrollably. Even if he had to die, he wanted to bring someone down with him! Now, he knew that Lu Yizhou was not a normal zombie, he would not necessarily die even if his brain was destroyed. And thus, what could bring Lu Yizhou even greater pain?

His handsome features were twisted into a spiteful grin. He had stepped on Li Zhu's body, giving him a few seconds of additional respite in midair. But it was already enough. With all the strength he could muster, Yang Tengfei took out the last grenade in his possession and aimed it at the warehouse again! This time, even if Lu Yizhou wanted to intercept it with his own body, it was already too late!

He roared in laughter as his body plummeted straight into the crowd of bloody zombies already waiting below. "Hahahaha— live! I want you to live each second in pain!!"

In the next second, the warehouse exploded in an earth-shattering boom!
