Dr. Feng was so angry that he almost stormed out of the room right there and then.0

What 'soften people's hearts'? What 'air of fragility'? Water must have gotten into his head for him to think of Lu Yizhou like that! He took them all back!

When Lu Yizhou was still in the simulator, he had given Dr. Feng a lot of headache, and after he came out, he still gave Dr. Feng a massive headache! 

Dr. Feng could not help but take off his glasses to pinch his brows. Be patient, he told himself. You are dealing with Lu Yizhou here. After giving himself a short prep talk, Dr. Feng put his glasses back on and asked wryly,

"...Do you know what state you were in when we found you?"

Lu Yizhou was silent, it was unknown what was going through his mind. 

Clearly, he had just woken up from a coma and his body was still very weak. Yet he sat on the bed with his back straight as if he could spring up at any moment. Dr. Feng simply felt helplessness in his heart. He knew what kind of person Lu Yizhou was very well. Even at a time like this, he was unwilling to show the slightest bit of weakness in front of others. It was as if he was guarding against the whole world which was out to get him.

Dr. Feng heaved out another long sigh. "Because you have chosen such a nice burial place, your muscles had almost been atrophied and you had frostbites all over your body. I almost mistaken you as a blue snowman. If not for our current technology, then you would have woken up without a limb or two, understand?"

He dragged a chair for himself and plopped down on it gracelessly. After saying all that, he still could not help but get softhearted. After all, Lu Yizhou was only twenty two— wait, no, his birthday had already passed when he was still in a coma, so he was twenty three now. Twenty three. He was just a child.

…Even though his demeanor was nothing like a child.

"Alright," Dr. Feng finally relented to the young, helpless. "What got you in such a bad mood? Your last simulation did not go well?"

Perhaps that one question of his had struck a sore spot in Lu Yizhou's heart, but the young man pursed his lips even tighter. His lashes lowered, shrouding his eyes and the waves of emotions within. Yet in the end, what came out of his mouth was, "You still owe me a lot of explanation about him."

"Yes, yes, I do." Youngsters these days were really impatient, Dr. Feng cursed inwardly. "I didn't mean to avoid you. These past few days have been really crazy. You should know that we are doing a major clean-up of bugs in the simulator. I was working overtime to restore everything to how it originally was. If not for you, I would still be working by now."

Dr. Feng shamelessly grabbed a nutrient drink that was meant for Lu Yizhou and gulped it down to moist his dry throat. Lu Yizhou was too taciturn. He needed to expend a whole lot of energy and observation skill to guess what the young man was thinking. 

He tossed the empty nutrient bag to the trash can and murmured, "Where should I start?"

"Who is he?" Lu Yizhou's hoarse voice sounded. "What does he have to do with the former royal family? And lastly… do you know my real identity? Is that why you accepted me into this project despite knowing what I have done?"

Dr. Feng whipped his head up in shock. He did not expect Lu Yizhou to throw that bomb out of nowhere. And when he met Lu Yizhou's scrutinizing eyes that were boring down on him, Dr. Feng finally realized that he had just stepped into a trap. Goodness, youngsters these days are just so…

Now that Lu Yizhou had given him a topic to start, Dr. Feng finally chose to be honest, "That's right, I know you. The sole grandson of Elder Lu — the deceased president of Azure Planet as well as one of the most outstanding ministers in the Capital Planet."

"It has been two decades and I apologize for only saying it now…" Dr. Feng suddenly stood up and gave Lu Yizhou a deep bow. "Lu Yizhou, I am very sorry for your loss."

When Lu Yizhou heard the other say 'Azure Planet', his pupils trembled faintly. He did not even realize he was gripping the blanket so tight that his knuckles turned white.

Most people would not know the name of his planet nowadays — his hometown, the place where he was born. Even Lu Yizhou had almost forgotten it. After all, almost two decades had passed since the bloody massacre that happened there. By now, it must have turned into a scrap planet that was not suitable to live in. Even the tragic incident had been covered up as an unfortunate radiation exposure that cost almost all of the lives on the planet.

Back then, he desperately wanted to forget everything as he had no idea how he could continue to live on with the memory of his loved ones who were killed tragically right in front of his eyes. He had no idea when it started but… he really started to forget. 

His elder sister, his parents, his grandfather… all of their faces had become blurred in Lu Yizhou's mind. He forgot their faces, their voice and their smiles. It was only the thought of vengeance that sustained him. Never had he expected that someone would still keep it in their mind, and that someone would stand in front of him one day and tell him, 'I am very sorry for your loss'.

As long as he could remember, nobody had ever said those words to him…

Lu Yizhou glanced at Dr. Feng's genuinely remorseful look and an indescribable feeling swelled in his chest. He had learned a lot of new emotions inside the simulator. More or less, he could analyze what he was feeling right now. Regret, sorrow – a lot of sorrow – yet there was also a hint of happiness and relief which he had no idea where they came from.

"Thank you…" he managed to choke out after a while, his throat constricting sharply. Lu Yizhou took a few steadying breaths before he regained the better part of his composure. "I have always wondered why I was chosen to join the project. But as it turned out, you—"

"You're wrong," Dr. Feng shook his head as he guessed the direction of Lu Yizhou's thoughts. "It's not simply because you are the deceased Elder Lu's grandson as well as the sole survivor of Azure Planet's massacre that I chose you. No, to be exact, it is not me who chose you, but… Zachary."

Lu Yizhou's pulse jumped to his throat. "Zachary? You mean… Zeke?"

"Yes, that's his name." Dr. Feng sat down on the chair again and tugged his collar loose, sighing. "It looks like I still need to start from the beginning. I might have told you that there are a few things I need to prepare, but in fact… I'm just guarding against some people. In case you don't know, even though the former royal family has fallen from grace and our government has since implemented the fair democratic system, there are still a few parties who wanted the Capital Planet to return to the previous dictatorial patriarchy."

"...And they have set their eyes on Zachary," Dr. Feng finished in a grave tone.

Lu Yizhou's eyes quietly widened. He had made a lot of speculation on his own, but none included this. "You mean… those people want to push Zeke up to the throne?"
