SUGAR MOMMY (PART 4)

Ge Chen noticed the Police Chief's gaze.  1

He wondered, 'His sharp gaze never left her the moment she entered the house. What does he want?'

Zhao Ting continued chatting with Xue in, "I didn't know the Mu Corporation took such great care of their employees."

His eyes landed on Ge Chen and hurriedly added, "I don't mean the Su Corporation and Ge Corporation don't take good care of their employees. It's just that the Mu Corporation is advanced."

Xue Lin nodded. "Yes, their CEO cares for the employees' mental health a lot more than other company CEOs. It was a great experience there. From what I heard from your wife, your daughter's situation isn't that bad."

"Not that bad?!" Madam Zhao exclaimed as she entered the living room after ordering the maids to prepare some snacks for the guests. "She attempted suicide."

Xue Lin explained, "That's because no one was there to support her mentally. She couldn't open up to anyone and you didn't know how to approach her.

"Her case is sensitive; that's for sure. However, she is a teen. She needs love and care. Depending on her mental state, she will get better in time. 

"It's like a sickness. My job is to find out where the germ is affecting the body. I locate the germ and get the right medicine to treat it.

"I just used a metaphor. I already got the symptoms and the reason being her sufferings. Like a doctor, I'll test her by talking to her and getting along with her. 

"I'll try to locate where the actual problem is and slowly get rid of it."

Everyone listened to her and found her plan reasonable and logical.

However, Madam Zhao insisted, "Can't you do it early? I'm so scared that I don't think I'll be able to sleep at night anymore. I can never forget this way." 

She shivered as he recalled that her daughter was lying on the floor. There was a red pool surrounding her.

Xue Lin stood up and walked toward her. Then, she made Madam Zhao sit on the couch and she sat down beside her.

Afterward, she said, "I know it must be hard. I must praise you for bravely dealing with the situation. If you had a weak heart, you would end up in the hospital. But you didn't.

"Not only are you talking to us abnormally, but also doing everything to treat your guests well. You are one of the most wonderful and brave mothers I've seen in my life."

Her voice was soft and full of care. It made anyone feel like she could understand Madam Zhao's pain.

Madam Zhao was holding back her emotions. Upon hearing such words, her eyes teared up again and she cried out loudly.

Xue Lin waited until she stopped crying. Then, she handed her a glass of water.

Madam Zhao took a sip and then put down the glass. "Today is the first time we met and I'm showing you an unsightly sight."

Xue Lin shook her head. "That's not how I saw it. I saw a loving mother who cares deeply about her daughter. Your daughter is lucky to have a mother like you."

"You say kind words." Madam Zhao was embarrassed.

"Shu'er, you are making our guests awkward. What will they think of us?" Zhao Ting complained.

Xue Lin stated, "We don't feel awkward at all. I'm relieved that your daughter is alive. Since she had yet to wake up, we should get going. We will come back after she wakes up.

"It's my kind request that you wouldn't show how upset you are because of her actions. Don't talk much unless she is willing. Be kind and gentle toward her.

"It would be better if you call me the moment she opens her eyes, and I hope everyone keeps an eye on her.  Her temperament should be sensitive after waking up. Her doctor or one nurse should be with her constantly."

"We will be prepared. I won't let anything happen to my daughter again," Zhao Ting promised. 

"And another thing. Can you give me all the information you got about the fraud?" Xue Lin asked.

Zhao Ting and Madam Zhao were startled by her sudden request.

"Why do you want his information?' Zhao Ting inquired.

Xue Lin replied, "To get rid of your daughter's sadness."

"Miss Xue Lin, I want to trust you but I demand that you will never bring that bastard in front of my daughter," Zhao Ting sharply stated.

Xue Lin softly told him, "No worries. Nothing will go according to your imagination. I need to check up on him and make sure he doesn't harm other innocent girls like your daughter."

Zhao Ting paused after hearing her reply. Then, he told his secretary to bring what she asked for. 

The secretary brought some files and handed them to Ge Chen. Ge Chen checked the contents inside before signaling his wife to get up.

"Thank you. We should get going then," Xue Lin bowed and was ready to leave.

"Thank you for coming and helping us out. We had no idea how to take care of her now that she had stopped talking." 

For the first time, Zhao Ting showed his emotions. He had been hiding his emotions up until now. 

"See you soon." Xue Lin bowed before leaving.

Ge Chen said nothing and followed after her like a good partner.

"Excuse me, Miss!"

Xue Lin was about to open the car door when someone called her.

Xue Lin turned around and spotted Police Chief Lu Ming.

He came forward and asked, "Are you the 'Xue Lin'?"

"What do you mean?" Xue Lin asked while frowning.

"One of my colleagues mentioned a girl named Fa Xue Lin. She is in our police record. I was wondering if you are the same girl," Police Chief Lu Ming disclosed.

Xue Lin replied, "If you are curious, why don't you check my background.?"

Police Chief Lu Ming inquired, "Do you know Inspector Han?"
