"One of my colleagues mentioned a girl named Fa Xue Lin. She is in our police record. I was wondering if you are the same girl," Police Chief Lu Ming disclosed.  0

His sharp eyes were staring at her as if he was going to read whatever came to her mind.

Ge Chen was startled by Police Chief Lu Ming's words. 

'I didn't get any report on Lin being in the police record. Did my men miss something?' he wondered.

Xue Lin slightly frowned at Police Chief Lu Ming's comment. "If you are curious, why don't you check my background?"

Police Chief Lu Ming realized that she didn't like his question but he didn't care.

He inquired, "Do you know Inspector Han?"

Xue Lin stayed composed. "I've met him a few times this year. Is it related to the girl you are looking for?"

Police Chief Lu Ming replied, "I believe so. Very few police officers knew about her incident. I would want to meet her again if I could."

"Then meet her. Don't waste my time." Xue Lin opened the door of her car and went inside.

Ge Chen quietly looked at the Police Chief before sitting on the passenger seat. Xue Lin started the engine and drove away.

'If it wasn't related to her, she wouldn't be agitated. She is showing emotions because it's related to her. I have to keep an eye on her.' Police Chief Lu Ming thought while looking at the back of the car.

After staying quiet for a while, he asked his wife, "Was he talking about you or someone else?"

"How many girls do you know to have the name 'Fa Xue Lin', my husband?" Xue Lin asked him back.

"One and only, my wife," Ge Chen answered calmly. "But why do you have a police record?"

"It's not that every person who has a police record is a criminal. Do you remember Puja's incident?" Xue Lin asked.

"I will never forget it," Ge Chen replied. 

He could still remember her injured unconscious body and dead bodies burned and slaughtered everywhere. It would be weird if he could forget what happened. 

Xue Lin was staring at the road and focusing on driving. While doing so, she explained the whole situation.

"I was recorded in the police file when I was in school. That cursed village took many of my teachers' and classmates' lives. Do you think higher ups would want all the police to know what happened there? There is always a risk for the public to find out."

"I see. Why is he interested in meeting you?"

"I don't know. I don't want to know. I just want to forget that incident. I don't even remember what happened after I passed out. Why are they taking things on me?" Xue Lin scoffed. "They seriously don't know how to treat a victim."

Ge Chen could understand her feelings. "It's okay to be frustrated. You can always share with me."

"I guess married life isn't that bad after all," Xue Lin muttered.

Ge Chen smiled softly in return.

It didn't take much time to reach the gate of their mansion. However, they saw a car parked there and some people were arguing with Ge Chen's security guards.

"What now?" Xue Lin frowned. She drove the car closer and the people's faces became clearer.

"Oh, no! Not them! We just came back and now I have to face them?! Can today become even more tiring?" 

Out of anger, she slapped the steering wheel. 

"You can stay inside the car. I'll go out and see to it." Ge Chen got out of the car and strode forward.

"What do you want?" he asked.

Two men were standing in front of the gate. They turned toward him when they heard his voice.

"Xiao Chen! What's the meaning of this? I'm your father and these impudent guards aren't letting us in! How do you manage your employees?! Looks like I have to take things in my hand." 

Ge ChuanLi was fuming. 

"I ordered them not to let you enter," Ge Chen disclosed.

Ge ChuanLi glared at his firstborn. "What did you say? I'm your father. How dare you–"

"You can be his father but not my mother-in-law's husband." Xue Lin came out of the car and confronted him. "That's her property. How can you have a face to come hear her property when you cheated on her? So disgusting!"

'This girl again! Ever since she got married to Xiao Chen, nothing went smoothly. She is a curse!' Ge ChuanLi wanted to tear off that tiny woman.

"You, watch it! Don't you know how to talk to your elders?" Ge Junjie reprimanded her.

Xue Lin wasn't bothered by what he said. She was even more disgusted that she had to face this dirty playboy.

"Oh! And I have to learn it from trash like you? Look at your disgusting, shameless father. He barged into his ex-wife's property with his illegitimate son and demanded as if he is the king. 

"Can he be more brainlessly delusional than this? Maybe you need to go to the mental hospital. I can recommend some good doctors for you."

Ge Junjie hated this woman with his guts. He shouted, "W-who is mental? You are mental! Your whole family is mental!!"

Xue Lin cared less what he had to say to her. 

She retorted, "So what I'm mental? At least I have shame. What about you? You act like you can walk around stark naked and no one will say anything to you. 

"Do you think you are some big-shot just because you have the title 'Ge'? Don't be too proud when you have a son of two shameless losers."

"Xiao Chen, control your damn wife! She doesn't know what she is saying!"

Shameless as he was, Ge ChuanLi couldn't take insults Xue Lin threw at him. He didn't want to come here in the first place. But his wife and son persuaded him to come here.

And now, a tiny woman was rubbing salt in his wounds. He couldn't take this.
