268 - Black Knight

Seeing the speed of 'Noah', the captain realized the mistake he had made. This wasn't Noah. This speed was something only the Blessed Rank B could wield; this was a monster like the one Noah had killed to get the armor!2

The captain was desperate to see that monster heading towards him so quickly. 'Shit, I don't have enough agility to dodge this monster or enough strength enough to defend myself... My ice knight won't get here in time.'

Seeing that the situation was getting so desperate, the captain finally accepted his fate. 'Well, will my friends laugh at me for dying in a Rank C Fortress? Fat Fred will probably make fun of me to everyone, that bastard. But when the Rank C boys see why I died, I don't think it will be so embarrassing. After all, anomalies do happen. Who knew there would be two Rank B monsters in this Rank C Fortress?'

But before the monster could get to him, the captain saw an explosion of fire appear in front of him. From that explosion, a man dressed in the same armor as the monster running towards him appeared, mounted on a fiery unicorn.

This scene left the captain dazzled. 'Damn boy, I'm not a princess in danger who needs help to be saved from the evil monster, and neither are you a white knight! You're more like a dark knight...' the captain thought frustratedly until he realized something that made him despair.

"Get out of here boy, this monster is not something you can handle! If you die, I will be cursed by the whole family!" the captain screamed in despair.

He knew that Noah's opponent was a Rank B monster, which was at a level that Noah definitely couldn't handle, and considering the potential Noah showed, if Noah died in that Fortress, it would be a pretty heavy blow to the family already - that the most prodigious young man in the family would die in a Rank C Fortress.

But unfortunately for the captain, Noah simply ignored the man's words and kept running towards the monster that was wearing the destroyed dragon armor.

'The armor on this monster is very broken. It has many flaws, so I have a chance!' Noah thought with conviction as he rode on the unicorn as it galloped toward the vampire coming toward him. Noah's agility wasn't enough to handle a monster like this, but the unicorn's agility would be enough for that. With a mental command, 8 imps appeared in explosions alongside Noah astride the unicorn's back and waited for Noah's order as they also galloped.

After summoning the imps, Noah activated the [Devil Form] ability, which increased his stats by 20%, but there was no visual change on him, as he was wearing the armor that completely covered his body. With open hands, Noah sent three balls of fire, one to the dying ogre with both arms missing, and one to each troll that had died to atack the ogre, making three good mana sources for him.

With these mana sources available, Noah opened his hands and let flames seep out everywhere. It was as if his hands were two flaming spears that completely illuminated the cave. The amount of flames that came out was frightening. It was as if a dam had been broken and all the water stored there was leaking in all directions as it swallowed everything. But unfortunately Noah's timing was not good enough. The unicorn's agility was high, giving only a few seconds for Noah to perform this action, in addition to the vampire's agility which was even higher.

When the two were about to meet face-to-face, Noah ordered the imps to jump on the knight as he and the unicorn teleported to the knight's back and continued to run in the opposite direction of the monster as if they were ghosts who could pass through a solid body as if it were nothing.

As the unicorn's body was so large, the mana it required Noah to make was too high, preventing him from teleporting as far as he would if he were alone. Even with the three mana sources, the cost was still greater than the cooldown he received.

But that was enough. When the vampire was attacked by the imps, he understood that these monsters were under the control of that knight, and seeing that the knight was the biggest threat he currently had, the vampire turned to Noah after killing the imps and ran towards him one more time.

As fast as the unicorn was, the vampire's speed was even greater. Noah had his hands in the air as he let large amounts of flames out there, wanting to make the place hell on earth. But now that the vampire's goal was him, it was impossible to run away from this monster so easily. The vampire's agility was at least 5x greater than Noah's, and maybe 70-80% greater than the unicorn's, which kept Noah from trying to battle the monster head-on, or without the unicorn to help.

With that, the only thing left for Noah was to run and try to delay as long as possible for more flames to go flying.

10 meters...

8 meters...

6 meters...

The monster was approaching very fast. Every second the monster approached 2 meters toward them, and now Noah only had 3 seconds more before being caught by the monster.

4 meters...

In this area Noah gave up and ordered all the flames floating around to fly towards the vampire, turning the monster into a human-torch. But as Noah guessed, the monster was undead, meaning he didn't feel pain. As much as he was being burned, he didn't react, as if it was nothing.

2 meters...

Noah felt that now he might die. His only alternative was either the monster burning to death, which was showing no signs of happening soon, or something else would. Without thinking twice, Noah ordered the unicorn back to Hell and teleported himself 10 meters ahead, which was the most he could teleport with his current mana.

10 meters again...

2 meters...

Noah saw the vampire's blade come up to his face.
