Yan Jun could not help but frown. To him, or to be more exact, to everyone else, Ye Tianxin was a ball of sunshine.2

She radiated with her own light and brought warmth to them.

She was amazing. She was so amazing that they could not help but want to get close to her.

"Tianxin, if me liking you has bothered you, then I am very sorry. You don't have to dig up excuses just to reject me. I like you, and that is something that involves only me and has nothing to do with you," Yan Jun said with conviction. "I will try my best not to let my admiration of you disturb your life. Tianxin, you still have a long way to go, and there are endless possibilities in the future. Perhaps, in the future, you might like me. You never know…"

Yan Jun did not want to acknowledge this fact.

Ye Tianxin looked serious and was not as relaxed or casual as she was when she was with Li Qingcang.

"There's someone else… I am in love with him. I only want to be with him…in this lifetime and the next one…" 

When she talked about the man she liked, Ye Tianxin was enthusiastic and her eyes sparkled. Her eyes were like a pair of stars that could brighten someone's dark night.

"Are you sure about him? Tianxin, you might discover what's good about me in the future. I am serious. Truly, I won't mind being a back-up plan."

Yan Jun was desperate. He was basically begging for Ye Tianxin's affections. 

He was willing to be a spare.

He was willing to abandon his pride for her.

What did she do to make him fall for her so hard that he would offer her to be a back-up plan?

He could not say.

He only knew that he was irrevocably in love with Ye Tianxin. To him, everything that was good and beautiful on this earth embodied Ye Tianxin. 

Ye Tianxin shook her head and rejected him.

She had always been a determined person. There's no changing her mind when she had finally decided.

She only loved 'him', only him.

"No, I do not need a back-up plan."

Her refusal made Yan Jun's expression grow dark.

His face was slightly pale and it looked as if he had used up all his strength. Then, he said sulkily, "Tianxin, is the person you like 'him'?"

"Yes," Ye Tianxin admitted. There was no point in keeping it from Yan Jun.

Yan Jun was upset, but he continued to probe, "Would you have fallen in love with me if I had met you first?"

"No," Ye Tianxin answered matter-of-factly.

"If I had not met him then, I admit that my life would be much more difficult than it is right now. Perhaps I would not be as happy as I am today. Instead, I would be a girl filled with anger and struggling in this world. But his arrival had shone light in my life. He is the brightest star in the sky that will always guide me. He is the one who taught me that in this world, living in the moment and living as you wish is more important than anything."

There were times when Ye Tianxin could not help but imagine what would happen to her if she had not met Elder Brother Li.

If she had not donated blood, then she would not have had anything to do with Elder Brother Li.

Then, she would definitely have taken a different path in life.
