He turned down the temperature and the hot water soon turned cold. The icy water bore into his bones and numbed all his senses. Soon, the image of Ye Tianxin shattered like ice under the cold water.

After his shower, Li Qingcang gave Xie Xuning a call.

"Xuning, Tianxin may not be able to go back today." He recounted what happened between Ye Tianxin, Li Zhiwei, and Li Bai to Xie Xuning.

"All right, I know. Keep her company. Try to bring her back for dinner tonight."

"All right," Li Qingcang replied.

Back at the Xie residence, Xie Xuning was standing upright in Xie Qian's study. He looked at his aged father and laughed softly. "Father, both you and Li Hezheng claimed that you do not know who is the master nor do you know who X is, but I think both of you do know who they are. You just don't want to say it."

Xie Qian was outraged. He threw the inkstone he was holding right at Xie Xuning.

His son had wrested power from him and conspired with others to go against him. The worst part is that now Xie Xuning was calling him a traitor to his country.

"What exactly do you want? Do you want your father to go to court in the military?"

Xie Xuning's lips curled into a smile. He said sarcastically, "Why are you so angry, Father? Isn't this what you wanted me to be like?"
