Meanwhile, both Jing Zhichen and Shangguan Ling ended up getting drunk. Although Jing Zhichen could hold his alcohol very well, he was still not as good a drinker as Shangguan Ling.

Shangguan Ling was feeling tipsy and chased Jing Zhichen out before falling asleep.

Jing Zhichen then stumbled to Ye Tianxin's bedroom in a drunken state.

He sat on the steps and raised his head to look at the sky. The stars were twinkling brightly that night.

"Ye Tianxin, are you asleep?"

There was no sound or movement from the bedroom.

Jing Zhichen straightened his legs and took a deep breath.

"Hey, I heard that when someone dies, they become a star in the sky. Do you think Qingcang will do the same? Will he become the brightest star in the sky?"

"Tianxin, are you really asleep?"

Jing Zhichen's body fell backward and he collapsed directly onto the stone steps.

He continued to murmur to himself. "Qingcang, why did you leave? What will happen to Tianxin now that you're gone?"

A tear slipped down Jing Zhichen's cheek.

"Qingcang, what would you think if I set Tianxin up with Shangguan Ling?"

"Qingcang, don't blame me for this. Now that you're gone, I have to take care of Tianxin."

As Jing Zhichen finished muttering, he stretched out his hand and slapped his face.

He slapped himself again and again.

He did not hesitate to hit himself multiple times.

The slapping sounds were loud and continuous.

"Qingcang, I know it's wrong for me to do this. Why am I so stupid?"

Jing Zhichen was drunk and started getting boisterous. Li Qingcang heard all of his nonsense from inside the bedroom. He had a sudden urge to rush out and confront Jing Zhichen.

Li Qingcang got up and walked toward the door. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks.

He was the fool, not Jing Zhichen.

He was the one who didn't tell Jing Zhichen that he was still alive.

It was understandable for Jing Zhichen to find a new partner for Ye Tianxin as he thought that Li Qingcang was dead.

Nevertheless, Li Qingcang was not comfortable with what his good friend was doing. It left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"Qingcang, I'm sure you also want Tianxin to be happy, right?"

"I think you'd want that. I want Tianxin to be happy as much as you do."

Unable to control himself, Li Qingcang finally opened the door. He walked toward Jing Zhichen and knelt in front of him.

He stretched out his hand and slapped Jing Zhichen's face several times.

"The floor is cold. Go back to your bed and sleep."

As Jing Zhichen thought he was dreaming, he turned over and hugged Li Qingcang's thighs. With tears flowing down his face, he cried out, "Qingcang, you've finally appeared in my dreams. Do you know how sad I am...?"

Jing Zhichen whimpered, "Qingcang, you died such a horrible death. You..."

Li Qingcang picked Jing Zhichen by his collar and brought him back to his room.

Everyone would know he was alive from such a loud wail.

"Qingcang, don't go."

Jing Zhichen held on to Li Qingcang's arm.

"Qingcang, what do you think of Shangguan Ling in terms of his looks, status, temperament, and upbringing. Do you think he is worthy of our Tianxin?"

Jing Zhichen chuckled. "Qingcang, it's not me. Don't you remember that Uncle Xuning had matched them together when they were young?"
