Qie Wang had done so many bad things to his friends and family. The person most affected by his actions was none other than Qie Yiyan. 1

Qie Yiyan had been Xie Xuning's subordinate since he entered the army. Xie Xuning was like a father to him.

Now, his father had even colluded with outsiders to harm the Xie family. How would Qie Yiyan be able to face Xie Xuning now?

Qie Wang did not consider that he would put Qie Yiyan on the spot when he did all those things.

Li Qingcang pulled Ye Tianxin to sit on a chair.

That was when Xie Xuning, Li Xing, and the others entered the room.

Qie Wang was also present. He looked nervous; he shuddered as he faced his friends.

"Xuning, please listen to me. That maniac Ye Zhizhou forced me to eat the explosive capsules."

Qie Wang hesitated. He looked at Qie Yiyan several times to signal for help, but Qie Yiyan looked away. He then looked at Qie Wenyang who simply sighed.

His sons were ignoring his pleas for help. Qie Wang could only turn to Yan Shanyue.

Yan Shanyue had put on a bright and colorful dress for Ye Tianxin's wedding that day. She had also put on some makeup which made her look years younger.

"Shanyue, please help me. You have to trust me. I don't mean any harm. I just want to help Xuning. That's why I gave Ye Tianxin the antidote for the X-Virus."

Yan Shanyue knew she was the bad guy that day. She could not let her two sons be the ones to turn Qie Wang away. He was, after all, their father.

She looked at Qie Wang with disdain and said, "Qie Wang, do you think you're a hero of justice?"

"No, I just want to help Tianxin and Xuning."

Everyone in the room was staring at Qie Wang with accusing looks. He felt like he was in an interrogation room, waiting for judgment to be meted out.

"Qie Wang, do you only think about yourself? Did you do all this to help Tianxin? Stop lying to yourself. You're using this as an excuse to do what you think is right, but is that the truth? Qie Wang, what if something happened to Xuning today? What about Li Xing? Li Qingcang? Tianxin? Have you ever thought of how much Xuning has done for you? How could you do this to him?"

Qie Wang had hoped that Yan Shanyue would speak up for him.

He did not expect her to rebuke him so sharply.

What had he done wrong? He had not hurt anyone.

"Yan Shanyue, whose side are you on? How could you scold me like everyone else?"

Qie Wang trembled with rage. He felt as though he had become an outcast.

He was all alone, surrounded by water. The sea level was rising slowly. He had been left alone to fend for himself. The whole world was against him.

There was a hint of apathy in Yan Shanyue's voice as she calmly said, "Qie Wang, I'm saying this in front of the children. We are already divorced. Qie Wang, you think you are the most innocent in the entire world. You think you're the purest one here, like a lotus perched high on the mountain. We may seem like mere mortals to you, but we have friends, family, and children. You have nobody else with you; you only have yourself."

The more Yan Shanyue spoke, the angrier she sounded. She felt irritated by what Qie Wang had done.

Qie Wang had done something so wrong and yet always thought he was right. How could such a man exist?

"I don't want to talk about all that nonsense between you and Li Zhiwei. What about the things you conspired with Gu Yancheng and Ye Zhizhou? Yiyan has already warned you about that. Have you ever thought about him?"
