Jiu Wei clenched his fist as he subconsciously glared at the gatekeeper, wanting to urge him. 2

The way Jiu Wei looked at the gatekeeper made the gatekeeper himself couldn't help but feel slightly overwhelmed even though he's a dragon. 

The gatekeeper flinched as fear crept to his heart but seeing Jiu Wei was still staring at him, the gatekeeper rushed to the portal and said, "Y-yes, sir, immediately, " the gatekeeper nodded like a chicken pecking its food. 

Without waiting any longer, he started the teleportation and meekly looked at Jiu Wei, "Sir, please stand inside the circle over there." 

His voice was a bit shaking as his eyes darted around. The gatekeeper clearly feared this normal human being without even the tiniest cultivation energy. Somehow this human's aura is frightening.

The gatekeeper kindly reminded Jiu Wei as he felt that the young man is too weak compared to the people who usually used the portal. Thus, the young man might felt sick after using the portal.

"...I'm ready, " The young man lowered his head and took a deep breath. He looked straight at the gatekeeper looking resolute to use the portal no matter what he would feel later.

Seconds after, the blue circle shone brightly as the purplish portal above Jiu Wei's head started to form a small hurricane. Bit by bit, the portal enveloped Jiu Wei's body as the mix of blue and purple light illuminated the dark surrounding.

A few seconds later, a gust of wind blew hard, hitting the gatekeeper's face as Jiu Wei's future disappeared along with the purple-blue light. There's no one inside the blue circle, only speck of dust left behind.

"My dear sister, are you ready? You will meet your husband-to-be tonight as we have dinner together, " Baihu Lei gleefully rubbed his palms as he asked Baihu Sei in front of him. 

The woman in front of him was currently combing her long, silver hair using a small golden comb with a red flower pattern on it. Her back was facing the man and once she heard what Baihu Lei said, her body flinched. 

The woman's hand movement paused for a second before she turned her body around. With her large yet sharp deep blue eyes, the woman glared at the man whistling happily not knowing what she felt right now. 

"What did you say?" Baihu Sei asked in a rather cold voice as she straightened her back. The woman was sitting on a backless chair in front of a chopper mirror. Her posture is elegant and dignified. She looked like a fairy if not for her intimidating glare. 

Startled, Baihu Lei took a step back as he sheepishly scratched his head. With a trembling voice, he said, "T-that...your husband candidate wants to meet you tonight...in a few hours…" 

There's a trace of guilty inside his voice. How could he not feel guilty when he promised his sister to arrange the meeting tomorrow morning instead of tonight? 

Baihu Sei raised one of her eyebrows hearing what her big brother just said. Her almond-shaped eyes suddenly squinted forming an almost straight line as she said in a low growl, "This is not what you told me before." 

The woman stared dagger at Baihu Lei immediately stole all colour from the poor man's face. He could only avert his eyes and lowered his head, trying to avoid a direct eye-contact with his sister. 

"T-that...that...your husband candidate said he wanted to meet you sooner before the formal meeting…" Baihu Lei gulped as he stared at his own shadow reflected on the wooden floor.  

The dim light of the room only made the atmosphere even eerier than before as right after he spoke, the woman didn't utter even a single word. 

Silence filled the room and only the sound of the two's breath could be heard. Baihu Sei shut her mouth tight as she gritted her teeth in a mixed feeling. 

How could her brother break his promise?! He said he will give her 3 days until she meets her husband candidate! That unknown man should come tomorrow but he's already here! 

What does this mean? Her brother wanted to pair her with this man faster than he thought before? The man is here to have dinner together with her and her brother? 

But won't this mean...the match-making will begin tonight? She already said she won't refuse this candidate as she had decided to move on but…

She promised Jiu Wei she would wait for 3 days!
