C666 Terror Story
When he reached the city gates, several people spotted him.
However, they only watched from afar and didn't dare to approach him.
Half a day later, those soldiers appeared again. They were probably patrolling and now, they saw Lin Fei, who was waiting for them at the city gate.
The look in the soldiers' eyes suddenly changed.
He instantly became pious and knelt in front of Lin Fei.
They completely treated Lin Fei as a god.
Just when Lin Fei was wondering if he should change places, he saw the mayor.
The city lord led a young man and a group of guards over.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." The mayor laughed.
Then he pulled the youth beside him and said, "He's this time's Braveheart!"
Lin Fei looked the young man up and down.
He was dressed in simple clothes made out of animal skin and had a belt tied around his head. His handsome face still had a look of tenderness on it, but his eyes were filled with determination.
"Senior, my name is Shuntian." The young man straightened his back and said loudly.
"Yes."
Lin Fei nodded at him, then looked at the mayor and said, "Let's go."
"You two can do it!"
The faster Lin Fei left, the happier he would be.
Because no matter what the result was, it would only benefit him.
"Senior, what's your name?"
The youth pulled out the sword at his waist and began cutting the weeds by the side of the road as he walked.
"Lin Fei."
The youth said with a smile, "The mayor said that you are very strong. I must learn from you and become an expert."
Lin Fei glanced at him.
The child's eyes shone with longing.
"Are all Bravehearts as young as you?" Lin Fei asked.
"No."
The youth immediately said, "The Bravehearts were chosen. They selected me. I also want to defeat that dragon."
Lin Fei asked him: "Then do you know how to find that dragon?"
"Of course I do."
"I've seen the map," Shuntian said proudly. "And I've sneaked up on the dragon before."
"The Bravehearts that went to deal with the dragon in the past have not returned. Aren't you afraid?" Lin Fei said slowly.2
"Not afraid."
Shuntian's eyes shone with confidence.
He smiled and said, "We will definitely be able to defeat the dragon and return victorious."
Lin Fei smiled.
Should he say that this child was crazy, or was he overly confident?
This wasn't a game, but a real death.
Lin Fei thought for a while and suddenly said to Shuntian, "Let me tell you a story, a story related to the dragon."
"Sure."
Shuntian happily agreed. He loved to listen to stories.
"A long time ago, in the back mountains of a kingdom, there lived a powerful dragon."
"Every year, this dragon will steal away a lot of money from the kingdom and hurt innocent people."
"Thus, every year, the King would send out Bravehearts to deal with the dragon. In the end, not a single Braveheart would return."
"Later on, the king sent a man to follow the Bravehearts in secret. He wanted to know what had happened."
"The person following us saw a Braveheart easily defeat the dragon and then sit on top of the treasure the dragon stole. He grew dragon scales and grew wings, turning into a dragon."
With that, he looked at the youth beside him.
Lin Fei's face turned completely pale when he saw it.
To him, this was just a joke, but to this young man, it was a terrifying story.
"You said that the dragons that come here every year are transformed by Bravehearts?" he asked in a trembling voice.
