Someone amongst the crowd whispered: "Why is he saying such a thing with that much pride? Is he addicted to relying on a woman for support?"1

"I'd say so. Take a look at the smug expression on his face. If he hadn't married Jian Yiling before the Zhai family went bankrupt, what could he possibly have right now?"

"And he has the audacity to come and bid on the land. Doesn't he know how expensive this plot of land is? It will definitely cost billions of dollars… How could he possibly have that much money?"

"Do you think Jian Yiling is willing to fork out tens of billions of dollars for Zhai Yunsheng?"

"Well, if she does, she's quite stupid."

Quite a few people were discussing this amongst the crowd. However, they lowered their voices and did not dare to let Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling hear their discussion.

As these people stood closer to Qin Chuan and Mo Shiyun, the two of them could hear this conversation.

Upon hearing such words, Mo Shiyun felt much better,

She was no longer foolish enough to do something that would trouble Jian Yiling. However, when she heard others belittle Jian Yiling, her heart could not help but feel happy.

At least she wasn't the only one who was being ridiculed.

Mo Shiyun looked up at Qin Chuan again. She quickly noticed at Qin Chuan was still looking at Jian Yiling. 

Even though her heart ached to see this, she quickly suppressed the pain.

However, no matter how painful it is, she had to endure it. After all, she refused to make another mistake. As long as she did not make a mistake, she could continue to stay by Qin Chuan's. To stay by his side, she was willing to bear any slander.

As the central part of Beijing had long been devoid of land to develop, in the past two years, the land on the outskirts of Beijing had been sold at sky-high prices.

Hence, many corporations and companies were interested in purchasing the piece of land that was to be auctioned. 

The bid started off at 5 billion dollars. In less than ten minutes after the bidding started, the price had already been raised to more than ten billion. 

At this point, many people had to give up.

So far, Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling hadn't made a bid. 

The people around them were curious about why this was happening. Were they not worried? Or did they not intend to bid on this piece of land in the first place?

Jian Yiling leaned on Zhai Yunsheng's shoulder. Her eyes began to flutter close and she seemed like an obedient kitten.

As she slept late last night, she didn't have enough energy to stay awake during the day. On top of this, she wasn't interested in the auction anyway. 

As Zhai Yunsheng felt bad about what happened last night, he decided to let her nap on his shoulder.

Even though he intended to hold himself back, self-control was difficult to have. 

When the bidding reached 18 billion dollars, Zhai Yunsheng finally spoke up.

"18.8 billion."

Zhai Yunsheng's bid caused many people to cast a strange look at him.

Was he really bidding?

Did he really have that much money?

Even the Dean of Lahaisen Hospital should not be able to gather that much money at once, right?

And even if they did have that much money, more money had to be expended on later development. They couldn't just hold onto a piece of land and not do anything with it right?

The land had to be developed and constructed. How did Zhai Yunsheng intend to do this? 

"19 billion," Qin Chuan's assistant exclaimed in Qin Chuan's stead.

"20 billion," Zhai Yunsheng said smilingly.

It seemed as though he was serious about this.

When everyone else heard this, they couldn't help but exclaim that Jian Yiling was indeed very rich.

As expected of someone who founded Lahaisen Hospital.

"20.8 billion," Qin Chuan's assistant continued to raise the price on behalf of Qin Chuan.

"21 billion," Zhai Yunsheng continued with a relaxed expression on his face. He continued to raise the price. It seemed as if he wanted to fight Qin Chuan to the very end.
