Qu Zhen spoke plausibly and described his betrayal of the Zhai family as a forced and helpless act.1

He also added: "Young Master Zhai, if you can promise not to do anything that will harm us in the future, we will walk different ways from now on. There's no need for this conflict and hassle."

Zhai Yunsheng hooked his lips and smiled. Then, he softly whispered into Jian Yiling's ear: "Yiling, do you think there's a need to pick a bone with these people?"

The smile on his face was incredibly untamed and malicious.

"There is," Jian Yiling replied as she tried to keep some distance from Zhai Yunsheng. 

Upon hearing this response, Zhai Yunsheng said to Qu Zhen and Sheng Yingying: "Did the two of you hear that? Yiling wants to settle this matter with you guys."

Once again, Qu Zhen attempted to convince Zhai Yunsheng: "Master Sheng, there's really no need to do this. We can just walk different paths in the future. The river water really does not need to intrude into the well water. We can each go our own way without interfering with the other. The foundation of Dingwen Group is still unstable. You don't need to become enemies with the Loyalty Alliance. It won't do you any good. Furthermore, the Loyalty Alliance is much stronger right now. Why do we both need to suffer losses?" 

"It makes me happy," Zhai Yunsheng answered.

Sheng Yingying was amused by this response: "Zhai Yunsheng, we're not begging you to help us or something. Don't act like you have the advantage right now. "Yeah, that's true," Zhai Yunsheng responded. He did not deny this.

Upon hearing this answer, a contemptuous smile appeared on Sheng Yingying's face as she said: "Aren't you embarrassed to say that? Don't you have any shame?"

He really acted like a dead pig who wasn't afraid of boiling water. 

Qu Zhen pulled Sheng Yingying back and told her not to argue with Zhai Yunsheng: "Forget it. There's no point in arguing. We were allies in the past."

Zhai Yunsheng was known to act like this. Most arguments with him were unwinnable.

Instead of arguing, they should just wait until Mr. Qin arrives. Mr. Qin would deal with the situation.

"Allies? Tch, he's just a loser!" Sheng Yingying exclaimed.

"Don't you say that," Qu Zhen said. "Even though Young Master Zhai is not as capable as Mr. Qin, I believe he's still trying his best."

Sheng Yingying coldly snorted: "I'm too lazy to argue with him. It's not because I'm afraid of him or something! I just don't want to waste my time and energy for nothing!"

Not long after, Qin Chuan and the members from Xunyu arrived.

The leader of the group of people was the middle-aged man who had appeared at Mo Shiyun's birthday party.

Quite a few of them looked very imposing and menacing.

As soon as they entered, they surrounded Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling. 

It was as though they were getting publicly denounced for their wrongdoings,

Qin Chuan's gaze fell on Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling. Despite being in front of others, Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling remained close together. 

Jian Yiling was like an obedient rabbit that nested in Zhai Yunsheng's arms.

This stung Qin Chuan's heart but his eyes refused to look elsewhere.

The pain made him feel more awake.

Maybe if he suffered a bit more pain, he would be able to wake up completely.

Despite feeling Qin Chuan's gaze, Jian Yiling did not meet his eyes.

She didn't love him and she didn't want to have any unnecessary interactions with him.
