"Oh? Really? Did I promise you that?" Cheng Chen gazed at Huang Long craftily, disdain clear in his eyes.

Huang Long paused. Indeed, this man hadn't explicitly said that he'd let him go. He had only vaguely said, "Say it then." It was he who had thought that the man had promised him and spilled the beans.

"No! You can't treat me this way! If I had not bought your daughter from the trafficker back then… no one knows how they would've treated her! For all we know, she could've died!
