"What happened?" Damien asked with knitted brows as soon as he took off along with Nathasia.0

Nathasia shook her head with a tense expression, "I don't know...some patrol group suddenly wanted to search our room and I-I…."

"I knew it...that innkeeper was behind this...he must have wanted to steal from us…Damn it!" Damien's face reddened as blood vessels popped up in his eyes from rage and continued, "If only that stupid car's fuel didn't get empty, we wouldn't have to rest here in this goddamn place."

Nathasia also knew that the other reason the innkeeper tried to rob them was because of seeing that they had money and also because of looking suspicious.

But she knew there was no other choice other than to hide their faces and also to carry their money and supplies with them since they were always on the move.

Suddenly the sound of sirens of military vehicles sounded from behind, and both Nathasia and Damien saw a few jeeps tailing them through the rearview mirror.

Damien glanced at the duffel bags on the backseat and said, "Take a rifle and shoot their tires or kill the driver. Whichever is faster to get rid of them."

Nathasia nodded, and even as her heart kept on pounding loudly, her movements were quick and precise as she quickly took an assault rifle and loaded it before trying to aim through the window.

Damien saw her trying to peek out the window, and something came over him as he pulled her back and said, "Be careful! They could shoot you back as well. Check if no one is aiming at you."

Nathasia had a blank look, but then she softly smiled as she nodded and took a careful look at the jeeps behind her.

Fortunately, she saw that no gunners were aiming at the car and took advantage of it to quickly put half her body out the window and accurately fired at the tires of the jeeps.

The drivers of the jeeps had their eyes go wide upon seeing a volley of bullets being shot at their jeeps.

They frantically steered their jeeps to avoid those bullets, and even some of the men in the jeeps tried to aim back at Nathasia.

But one of the jeeps went off the road as its tires got deflated by her bullets, and only two jeeps remained now.

Nathasia's eyes narrowed as she quickly shot at the gunners who were trying to aim at her.

Sounds of groans came out of their mouths as they succumbed to the seats of the jeeps. Nathasia was quite unstoppable as she fired a single bullet at the right intervals to shoot them in the head with perfect aim.

In fact, over the months, her mastery over the guns had reached another level, and she could easily aim with a sniper at long distances as well.

Still, it was not possible for her to be fast enough to kill all the men in those two jeeps, so she couldn't help but put her head back in when some of the men, including even the drivers, started firing back at her.

The windows shattered as Damien and Nathasia bent their backs to protect themselves from the bullets whizzing through from behind.

"They are going to take out our tires!" Nathasia anxiously said.

Damien's expression became twisted with frustration and anger as he quickly took a grenade from one of the duffle bags.

"You take two and throw them!" Damien instructed, and Nathasia picked up two as well.

But just as they were about to throw the grenade, one of the men in the jeeps deflated one of the back tires of Damien's car, making him lose control of the steering for a moment.

But he managed to take back control at the cost of the speed of his car.

"Now!" Damien shouted as he threw the grenade out the window as it shot straight for the jeeps.

Nathasia also threw two of them after cooking the grenade-like Damien for a while so that it will explode exactly at the same time as it hits those jeeps.

*BOOOM!*

And as expected, a loud boom resounded behind them as ripples of shockwaves traveled through the air.

All of them instantly died on those jeeps as the combined explosion of three grenades was no simple matter. The burned jeeps stumbled over the road as its burnt parts came out.

"Yay! We did it!" Nathasia happily cried out as she felt a huge sense of relief. After all, she thought that they were done for when one of the tires of their car got punctured.

She excitedly hugged Damien's neck and gave him a long and loving kiss near his lips so that she wouldn't hide his vision.

But she quickly let go of him and sat back, thinking how bold she was to kiss him like that suddenly.

Damien had a strange look on his face as he glanced at Nathasia but didn't say anything.

"I am sorry...I didn't mean to…" Nathasia said as she grimaced, wondering if he might have got annoyed by kissing him while he was driving.

"It's fine…" Damien said as he looked ahead, but then he frowned as he heard the sound of a helicopter approaching at an insane speed.

But suddenly, a bright light flashed through the windows, blinding both Damien and Nathasia as they brought their hands forward to shield their faces.

"Crimson Devil and Nathasia. Stop the vehicle immediately and come out with your hands out. Or we will fire!"

A loud warning came out from the helicopter, which Damien and Nathasia clearly heard.

"Oh no! They even sent a helicopter after us! Damien, what should we do?" Nathasia felt a very bad feeling seeing the helicopter and how its light beam was still blinding them.

Damien was too busy to reply as he tried his best to steer the damaged car while the light beam was still blinding his eyes.

*Shizz!!*

And before they knew it, a missile was fired from the helicopter, heading towards their car!
